I need this book. Can you imagine the look on the other parent's faces when my kid brings this book for open story time?

This sounds like a challenge is being thrown out to all the Farkers out there to come up with something way worse.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure "Story of O" is the worst children's book out there.

/What? If it makes them want to read, what's the problem, officer?

2014-08-05 02:33:17 PM
It can't be worse than Eloise.

Ok, just curious, where is the dad's hand? He looks waaayyyy too happy. A little pocket pool perhaps?

It wouldn't be so bad if the artist could draw a human being that didn't look like one of those generic human targets. Also a smile that's not so horrifying as to cause people to want to shoot it.

Yes, we saw that episode of 'John Oliver', too.

I always wanted to make a picture book titled, 'Kill your Parents'.  But I thought it would be too controversial.

I am no longer sure about that.

Well we should buy a copy for the chubby kid walking around his neighborhood with a gun.

Hey, now, we said 'worst' not 'best'.

// Somewhat confused by childrens' books trying to get kids in on random hot-button political bullshiat in general.  I guess the open carry thing is no sillier than the 'Bob has two mommies' thing or whatever doing the same shiat with gay marriage.  We do all realize that toddlers can't vote, right?

2014-08-05 02:50:36 PM
Seriously, it took THREE people to produce this book?

I think his gun is his hand which is kind of awsome.

My bad, too cheap to pay for HBO. Although, after reading this and searching for some clips of his show, I may have to start...pretty funny.

I looks like the illustrator modeled the holsters on the Blackhawk Serpa holster. I hope they do a lot of training, otherwise there may be a sequel "My Parents Shot Themselves in the Thigh"

NSFW language https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYvAxLX6OzE

/As a graphic designer, I wouldn't even touch that book for fear that the horrible creepy-eyed illustrations, that are staring out at the reader on every page, would steal my soul and sense of design.

Other great yet controversial children's books..

"Johnny's mom has two 45's...she also has a gun!"

Either that or the writer has some deep-seeded issues that they need to talk about to someone, quick.

I think we should ban any mention of the Constitution of the US. It is dangerous for children to know anything about silly things like rights.

To be honest, and at the risk of BSABSVwhatever, I really have to question any parent who gives/reads such a thing to their kids.

Some are actually written as joke-in-joke books for adults.  But the way people behave these days -- you never know.

Well someone in this thread seems to be getting really upset no one's paying attention to him.

Maybe if he holds his breath and stomps his feet while he posts yet another predictably inflammatory comment someone will play with him.

I think if you are going to teach anything firearm related to children, it needs to be something on gun safety and not the legality of being an attention whore. I'm sorry, even as a CCW holder, I do not see the necessity for open carry in an urban environment. In the woods is one thing, but I imagine it is much more of a pain in the arse than it is worth.
