(New Musical Express)   Judging by the tracklisting alone, this "lost" Bob Dylan album should have stayed just that   (nme.com) divider line 35

In fairness, it's shiat he wrote a while ago while on a farkton of drugs from every recreational category, sung and performed by people that aren't him.

As much as I personally love the guy's actual performances, I have to say I fully understand why the above is pretty much the formula for greatest success with his music.  A good performer, he was not.  Great writer, amazingly creative performance-wise... and unintelligible on his best days.

Three Crooked Squirrels: I didn't see a track listing.

There wasn't one.

It is also not a lost Bob Dylan album. It is pages of lyrics for 24 songs. Dylan did not write music for those lyrics, so they weren't actually songs.

Bob did give them to Burnett, saying he might want to do something with them. Though the article mentions some of the artists involved it does not say who wrote the music.

The article is a fail. And subby should be tarred and feathered for the pile of putrid shiat that is being called a headline.

Sure, there are always good and bad headlines, but this one is downright offensive. Shame on you.

Bob Dylan's songs are great. They're even better when they're sung by someone else.

Yeah, he isn't a good singer, but somehow it goes well with his songs and it was never bad enough for me to stop listening. Plus, it gives inspiration and hope to people like me who cant sing for shiat.

Bob Dylan's singing produced one positive effect:  It convinced another non-singer that he should have his own band, with himself as the front man.

I'm talking, of course, about Jimi Hendrix.

Also, this is a better Bob Dylan song than anything Bob Dylan ever did, both lyrically and in terms of singing talent:

It's an album. But let's make a documentary to sell the album. If we make a film we need a big star. Well let's put Johnny Depp on the album.

Hey subby...

If you're going to say something like "Judging by the tracklisting alone", MAYBE YOU SHOULD POST TO A FARKING ARTICLE WITH A GODDAMN TRACKLISTING.

Iggy Azalea's cover of Dylan's "Fancy" was particularly poignant. \

Dylan may be a terrible singer but Hendrix looked at him and said "If he can do it, then I can" which meant we got the Full Jimi Frontman Experience in the few short years we had him at his peak.

For that he is forgiven.

Wow! That is genius! I have never heard someone so describe Dylan so succinctly. +1

Would be cool to see some people take these lyrics and write some songs ala the Mermaid Ave. project.

If a Bob Dylan song is sung, it is obviously being performed by someone else.

Also, the headline reminded me of this:

This story has so many things to mock, a delusional movie star, the horrible headline, Marcus Mumford, a T-Bone Burnett money-grab, lyrics from a garbage can, and amongst all that -- what does this thread bring?

"Duh, Dylan sings like this, gith away dumblegath eh fay dogooo. Ha ha, get it! And what's the deal with airline food?"

My wife put them on in Pandora and the whole rest of the station was hipster folk, so I began to get the hate for them. But I saw them in concert and they put on a hell of a show. I was impressed.

I heard Dylan is better than Bieber, Minaj and the concept of hyperbole combined!
