Everything I hear about DiCaprio leads me to think he's an all-around great guy.

He's a lot like Justin Timberlake in that he seems to invert the general trend of being a celebrity: While I was dismissive of his early career, the longer he stays in the public eye the more I respect him.

I also heard that Bieber was making comments about banging Miranda Kerr while she was still with Bloom. They were hanging out at some Victoria's Secret show a few years ago. So he'd better hide behind his bodyguards, because that would piss off a lot of guys enough to try to hit him.

And if that's not bad enough, Lindsay Lohan was in the bar too.

I just realized that when you hear celebrities talk about how they got "beat up all the time in high school", this is the kind of non-event they're blowing up in their imaginations.  I mean, I realize that kids do get beat up in school, but it's never the right ones.

My one piece of advice to any celebrity that wants to have a go at the Biebs: suspend your Twitter account first. The rest of the world might praise you, but angry 14 year olds will @ you relentlessly for weeks.

I know he's a pretentious douche and all, but I still feel sorry for him*. Another child star grows up but can't tell what's normal and what isn't. Eventually he'll do himself in with drugs or something because he was never given the skills needed to function in a group where he is just equal, not superior to, everybody else. Kinda a "Do you know who I am?" syndrome on steroids. Someone needs to get that boy some understanding of who he really is in the grand scheme of things. It's that or end up miserable and/or dead by your own doings.

Rumor has it that Leo DiCaprio was a prick in his younger years immediately following the huge success of Titanic. He and his good buddy, Tobey Maguire, had a fondness for going to nightclubs and hitting on other guys' dates or girlfriends. And if they raised any sort of objection, they'd have them thrown out of the club. He eventually grew out of it. I suspect in large part because of the post-Titanic celebrity hype surrounding him hurt his career far more than it helped, and he knew he had to change his image.

its funny, but i remember say, around mid 2000's, Leo publically ripped Orlando Bloom for being an actor who just took big fluff roles (Lord of the Rings, Pirates, Troy), when instead, he should be using his fame for substance and take roles that make a difference in the world like Leo does, (Blood Diamond, Body of Lies).

Even more funny, those are the only 2 Leo films i can even think of that come close to making a commentary on our world at large.

Not a huge Leo fan because i think he's full of himself, but i do admire that he enlists in causes, and whatnot.

I think some of it has to do with his early career, where he very much was getting roles for being young and attractive and able to memorize lines.  That kind of celebrity tends to breed the worst kind of attitude.  What I figure is something happened in there - a report he read, offhand comment from someone he didn't recognize, maybe a heart to heart with another actor - that made him realize he was going to turn into a really shiatty person if he let things progress in that way.  Thus, he's made a conscious decision to not be a douchebag. I figure it was right around or just after he did The Beach.  That's really when he started ditching the popcorn heartthrob roles for the less shallow and more dramatic stuff, like Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, so on.

If that's the case, it would also explain why he is so dismissive of Beiber: he's basically what DiCaprio would have turned into if he hadn't corrected course.  Beiber is the anti-DiCaprio, so of course the two are going to clash.

Oh, and I agree on Justin Timberlake.  I mean he's not perfect, but ever time I've ever seen him in a film or an interview I've been legitimately surprised at how well he comes across.  Sadly, he has no taste in what film roles he'll accept, and has a talent for picking the decent roles saddled to stinker scripts.  Southland Tales springs to mind.

"Alright, JP, I'm reading over this cast list for your Hanson biopic and I'm a little confused here. Got no problem with Bieber, he's a real get for this project. Having a modern day girly boy singer play an old school girly boy singer, you got some smart cross-generational appeal there, and nowadays I bet he comes cheap. And Orlando Bloom, I don't know if he can sing, but he wears the hair well, right? But this third choice of yours... Leo DeCaprio? What the hell? That's like casting Pacino in an Adam Sandler film, or John Malcovich in one of those cartoony Transformers whiz bang boomfests. It just isn't done, JP."

I'm sure another key turning point for him was losing out on American Psycho. Mary Harron, the director, did not want the baggage of Leo's super-stardom brought unto the film and cast Christian Bale instead.

Actually, he pops up on the gossip sites a lot for doing weird and/or dickish things, usually at a party, while in a disguise, that he inexplicably crashed. Course people play along with whatever he does but he apparently does that a lot. But that kinda of story shows up a lot.

That's the thing about that scene that bothered me: Batts has his 2 goons with him at the Suite Lounge, including the guy with the toupee who looks like he could kick some A.  Yet he stays at the Suite Lounge by himself, and gets whacked by Henry, Tommy and Jimmy.  Then it takes forever to put the pieces together and realize that Batts was at Henry's bar and that's the last time anyone saw him where he got into an altercation with Tommy.

Huh?

It wasn't a mystery. They knew the situation the whole time, that's why they kept coming back again and again to bust their boss' balls about it and kept asking what happened. Without any kind of proof though, it was just speculation, so they sat on it for awhile. Then, eventually, they killed Tommy for it. That's why they iced him instead of putting him on the books. It was revenge for Batts.

In his early 20s he did the whole party scene, entourage thing, but he seems to have grown out of that phase and be conducting himself more or less along the lines of George Cloony or Matt Damon. He could very easily have gone down the rabbit hole like so many young people in Hollywood do.
