I tell ya, I never expected Beck to be the first of the talking heads to accidentally develop a conscience.

"Said" tends to indicate past tense

/no evidence exists that would suggest this is not a current and continuing phenomenon

incendi: I tell ya, I never expected Beck to be the first of the talking heads to accidentally develop a conscience.

I used to listen to him a LONG time ago and he used to be a completely different personality.  He used to talk a lot more about his struggles with addiction, and he didn't used to be quite so off the rails right wing lunatic.  I think the money changed him.  Either that, or he saw that there was more money in being an unhinged wingnut.  I still don't think he's a terrible person, other than that thing in 1990 of course.

Very good, Glenn.

I believe in forgiveness. Everyone makes mistakes, right? To prove your worth, give those millions you profited from pushing outright lies on TV and radio which have contributed to the delinquency of this countryto charity and repent for your mistakes, on your own show, to your loyal audience.

Until you actually do that, I call bullshiat.

2014-08-04 10:33:07 AM
Why the fark does anyone listen to anything this guy says? I mean what are his credentials? I guess you could ask that of any pundit on the radio or cable news.

2014-08-04 10:36:28 AM
Geez, that article was so full of "no shiat Sherlock," that I think I'm backed up now.

2014-08-04 10:36:36 AM
Referring to the widening gap between Democrats and Republicans in the U.S., he said he "unintentionally... added to the situation we're in right now."

Unintentionally? He intentionally did it to profit himself.

Ayup. Yeah, I got that part and snerted audibly.

Glenn Beck is plenty ignorant.

He's not that ignorant.

Exactly - I've always said this. His original radio show was a refreshingly different perspective at the time.

2014-08-04 11:40:05 AM
Yeah, whatever,  Glenn.  He'll be back to bawling about how the tyrant muslin oppressor Obama is going to turn your kids into homogay atheist nazis with Common Core and Agenda 21 on his show today.

2014-08-04 11:41:31 AM
Aw, come on, Glenn. I think you're being too hard on yourself.

2014-08-04 11:50:32 AM
I'd imagine the years of "supporter" mail and email he has received has frightened him more than he will let on.

2014-08-04 12:16:07 PM

nekom: other than that thing in 1990 of course.

Hey now! We don't know WHAT happened in 1990, since he won't answer any questions about his role in that whole thing.

No, you can't come back.

"When you live your life 5 hours a day on live television and radio you're going to say stupid things," Beck said.

Probably.

I'd like to think I wouldn't say stupid things 5 hours a day, though.

Also, fark off Beck. I'm not going to start watching The Blaze or listening to your little radio show because you faked a little bit of regret on CNN. I don't really care for shock jocks and, among them, you're one of the most ridiculous.

I guess 0Bama got to him, too.

Referring to the widening gap between Democrats and Republicans in the U.S., he said he "unintentionally... added to the situation we're in right now."

fark you. The only reason why you didn't know what you were doing is because you brain washed yourself into believing to sleep better at night.

That's not an excuse.

1) Take actual responsibility for you actions instead of getting excuse.
2) do shiat to try to fix the problem.

If he was still getting paid a lot to do it he would not be having this "change of heart".

See, I do.

He knows he made a shiat load of money off the right wing with his bullshiat antics.

Now he's feigning guilt?  Spare me.

Now maybe, just maybe, Cliven Bundy's antics were the last straw, but it's largely too late.  Those that have taken the jump of the cliffs of RW insanity are beyond help, and will only be quieted by another Republican in the White House, and even then they might not quiet down  like they largely did during Bush's term (compared to the ruckus they caused during Clinton).

Like all current pundits' credentials, he has graphics in the lower-third of your TV screen that denotes him being an authority on a subject. Or something.

He probably figured it should be obvious to anyone watching that he was an obvious clown; he should have figured someone (the wrong ones anyway) would have taken his schlock seriously.

You'll never go wrong overestimating the stupidity of the general public :(

I'm guessing that having a "conscience" is just a way to make a buck.

2014-08-04 01:07:32 PM
As you well know Mr. Beck, having been a recovering addict, admitting you have a problem is the first step..  Let's just get to the part where you make reparations and start trying to inform your audience legitimately and not in the old paranoid hate monger way.  Let's also do it without the hyper-partisan hackery.  I'll just sit here and watch as the monster you helped create turns around to devour you.

2014-08-04 01:08:26 PM
I heard he said some stupid things before doing those horrible things in 1990.

2014-08-04 01:10:51 PM
He always seemed way too outlandish to be taken seriously.  I don't doubt that he still believes a lot of what he's spouted, but probably not to the extent he appeared as when he was on Fox News.  I think Ann Coulter is like this too, that she's so vitriolic to the point where it's obvious it's all a show, regardless of how much of it she truly believes.

Doesn't excuse being total shiatwads though.

Try the truth, Glenn. When you do a mea culpa, you're supposed to tell the truth.

You intentionally tried to divide us through the use of outright lies, half-truths, innuendos. That was your job. You were paid to do that.

Don't get TOO excited...

FTFA: "he said he "unintentionally... added to the situation we're in right now. "

He's as full of shiat as the local sewage plant. I was gonna give him some credit, too, until he tried to convince me that he somehow did this bullshiat "unintentionally".
