Dorset has a tradition of electing its mayor by picking a name out of a hat. Bobby's name was written on a slip of paper, but so was the name of Dorset's new mayor, 16-year-old Eric Mueller.

"We take turns acting as a sort of Executive Officer of the week. But all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a biweekly meeting."

Speaking of Canada, did you know that they named their country by picking letters from a hat?

C, eh?
N, eh?
D, eh?

To be fair the Mayor's cake or death policy was based on flawed precedent.

Well, look where they left the freaking bar!
Literally laying on the ground.
Anything that crawls on it's belly, like Rob Ford, is qualified.

But on his last day he pardoned Aaron Washburn who was scheduled for an extended Time Out when his father came home and let Johnny Franks out of the corner 10 minutes early.

My cousin was Mayor of Dorset one year. Family owns a lake resort near there that I stay at once a year. Dorset is an awesome little town. It's the restaurant Capitol if the world by virtue of it having a population of about 6 people but a dozen restaurants, and nothing else. It's literally a bunch of eateries along the highway that somehow became a town. Each year we go for Taste of Dorset and my kids march in the parade, and I pay my dollar to have their names put in the hat for Mayor. It's a fun little tradition. I believe Bobby's campaign promise was that his parents would buy everyone an ice cream cone at the Dorset House.

That doesn't sound like a republican form of government as guaranteed by the Constitution.

Kid's a loser at 5. Can't wait for him to join the Tea Party and make his political come-back. Now, let's see...what would be his campaign slogan???

Estimated population 25...

They could nail it down?

any mayor (s)elected the traditional way.

Next stop, national politics. He's already smarter than the VP, and less likely to blame other people for the mess he created than the president.

C, eh?

An early meeting with a native, er Indian, er First Nations, chief caused created the name. The chief said "kanata" while pointing at a grouping of tents. The English commander thought it was the name of the "country", and the name stuck.

They may have something there

Put all 375 million American's names in a hat and draw one out every 4 years.
Make being a member of Congress like being on jury duty.........And once you name is pulled, you won't have to serve again
