(New Musical Express)   Sure, Arcade Fire is a fading hipster band with too much accordion, but they play a wicked cover of the theme music from 'Beverly Hills Cop'   (nme.com) divider line 14

I didn't see a "video below" on that page, so here's another link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIlsaOaaYRY

"This song is called F-Axel".. Wait a minute, you transposed the song title.. Oh! I get it, you're being clever, you're saying eff axel rose.  Ohhhhh man you guys are so hip!

Didn't see it because there's no video for it on the page... correct.  Great job MODs.. excellent green.. well deserved. Can tell you really looked that one over.
Was going to post same link.. you know, considering it is the video section and all.

Good news, everyone, "Hipster - person who makes jokes" now

I think it's pretty obvious what happened here.  Subby has 'palsy finger', where it twitches madly.  He was clicking on the right side of the top pic, producing a really fast slideshow.  Or a really slow video, depending upon his current booze level.

Subby was into posting broken links before you had your first green.

Also... doing a cover of the Beverly Hills Cop theme is so meta.

This is a really sloppy green. Are we breaking a new guy in?

WTF did I just watch too much of?

Was going to complain about them calling it the Theme from Beverly Hills Cop rather than Axel F, but then I realized that at least they didn't call it Crazy Frog like my son does.

I'm probably going to look *really* stupid here, but I'm gonna ask anyway.

I'm not a big music guy at all. Only been to one concert and that was a small reggae one like 25 years ago, so I don't really know...

Can bands just perform other people's songs like that? That's allowed?

pretty much, yes. most venues that have live music will have an ascap/bmi license that allows cover versions. a bit of that money will trickle into the royalty accounts of whoever is listed as the songwriter/publisher although i don't think smaller live places actually track song plays like they do on the radio.

there's a similar license you can get if you want to release a cover of a song on an album for example.

They also attempted to cover the Dead Kennedys.

Proving that many people on stage does not a good band make.
