Sybarite: Is the wax extra?

I thought all turtles came with a lifetime supply of their own Turtle Wax?

I tried so hard to express everything wrong with the headline, but that nails it.

It's very cool to watch in person. The turtle's know where these cleaning stations are and will glide in and settle on the reef. You an almost hear a bell go "ding ding" and all the fish school around and start picking off the algae from the turtle's shell. The turtle will sit still with this look of zoned out bliss on their face. I don't know if they can feel the cleaning or not, but they take a little snooze while the fish do the work and then swim out. Then another turtle will coast in and the process will start again. It's all very Finding Nemo-ish.

That's awesome to hear.  And adds a bit to my confusion.

Why is the Daily Mail publishing something that mostly factual?  They didn't even attempt to make the turtles Salmonella breeders who will hunt and kill your children.

I really don't know what to expect anymore.

I've not seen a turtle being cleaned but have watched cleaning station for fish.  They would park themselves at the appointed spot and open their mouths.  Small shrimp and/or cleaning wrasses would peck away at their skin and inside their mouths and even their gills.  When they were done, the little ones would swim away and the larger fish would move on.  Then, another larger fish would park itself.  I've seen that stuff on nature documentaries but to see it in person, is amazing.

Drumhellar, vrey clever.

Is this a headline or Beck lyrics?

Since I just watched this happening off Maui last week I can't agree more. The second best part is the same cleaner fish assume that snorkeling people need the same service so like to swarm around and give you strange looks.

Best part didn't involve turtles at all but a school of Tarpon that came to the edge of the reef to investigate, turtles swimming around lazily are cool, but more than twenty large ocean going apex predators ripping around was amazing.
