Thanks Brent. Love having a QB not throw into triple coverage every game now. It's quite enjoyable.

He deserves to have his number retired. He deserves to be not only in the Packer HoF, but Canton as well.

I don't care for how it ended, but it doesn't change one thing about the time he spent in Green and Gold. He's a Packer, and played a bit in New York and Minney.

You guys should let it go already.

Honestly, next year is the perfect time to come back and get everything done. Aaron has established himself as the team leader. Its far enough away from him getting traded/playing for Jets & Vikings. And he has not said anything that insane since he has been retired. 2016 he goes into the NFL HOF so it is time we start bringing Brett back into Packer Nation.

It's funny to see a Vikings fan white-knighting a Packers player.

To be fair, a lot of Packers fans worshipped him. For them, this was the equivalent of Macho turning on Hulk.

I'm a shareholder, and he was one of my favorite players. But the worship step is too far. Those people that were burning jerseys and such? Retards.

Every team has some of them as fans, sadly.

He absolutely belongs in the HoF, both Green Bay and Canton.  But the "Brent" jokes and the triple coverage jokes are funny.  I think it's you two that need to relax.

I am well past the idea that I need to "hate" another teams players and all that. Don;t get me wrong, i would like to see us beat the Packers  and all that because they are in the division.

But why in gods name would I hate on a team that has had more sucess then mine unless I am a farking jealous tool.

Also, FTA: So, it's a good thing the Packers are making this announcement in August. Because as we learned Sunday, Packers fans like to plan far, far in advance.

Yeah, we know they can't quickly make plans to attend a wild card game.

At least 2 NFL seasons and counting. That being said, I am trying to pick my spots better, which will be more infrequent once Favre retires...I mean his number is retired.

2014-08-04 06:47:53 PM
The Packers should totally troll Favre a month from now and say they changed their minds and won't retire his number after all.

2014-08-04 08:51:01 PM
If the Packers want to keep Brett Favre retired, they'll not only retire his jersey, they'll lock it up in
the Smithsonian....and then swipe his car keys, revoke his lifetime pass (if he has one), and essentially
put him under house arrest.  ("Retire already, damn you!")

Good, the time is right. Many Packer fans, especially those in their 20's (my peers) don't realize how spoiled we have been. From the early 90's on we had a hall of fame QB and transitioned to the current best QB in the NFL, who hopefully will have longevity too. In that time, how many QBs started for other NFL teams?

Hey, the Bears have a long and proud tradition of wishing they were as good as the Packers, and didn't the Browns...umm...well, there's always next decade.

Really, when you think about it, the only comparison is Montana to Young. Really, there's been no other handoff of talent level even close to this one.

Brett Favre... Brett Farvere?

Brett was the shiznit back in the day & if i was that good & had that much fun, i wouldn't want to quit either.

which is what made him so awesome: he was having a good time. even after getting up from being sacked & looking out his ear hole. granted, it could have just been the concussions making him grin so much... but it was awesome that he was still just playing a game.
he took risks & sometimes it didn't pay off, but the times when it did were magical (under-handing passes while being tackled & throwing into double & triple coverage, running around like crazy & then hucking it etc.)

o ya, he also had the jewelry to back it up

/not a packer fan
/i have no team & no, i won't root for the freaking seachickens just cause it's the only team close
/just want to be entertained & #4 was entertaining
