I think the last shot of the series will be of Sookie in her bikini, under-chin mirror in hand, tanning herself in an utterly vampire-free world.  And as the camera pulls back in a direct upward crane shot, we'll see about thirty werewolves slowly moving in to tear her to shreds for causing Alcide's  death.
Fade to black, and a Wilhelm scream.

Wonders if Alan Ball will end the series anywhere close to how the books ended.

I'm done with HBO for awhile after this season.  I mean I get old HBO seasons on amazon and can buy the season I want for less than I'm paying for HBO in a year.

I just need local channels and foxsports 1, espn & 2, amc, & bbc, low basic cable package and then Netflix and amazon and everything else in new media.

I would totally do away with cable/satellite but local channels and sports keep me tied to a basic package.

Damn you all to hell!  We'll not you, but those guys!! You know who!

I'm thinking Gordon and Donna return to the diplomatic work they abandoned after the events of the movie Argo.

The Strain is turning into a bit of a silly pleasure. It started off kind of crappy, a little to heavy on the Kramer vs. Kramer crap, but now that they are getting more into the vampire storyline it is getting more fun. Last week was kind of fun with their King Missile homage.

True Blood? The Strain? Screw that. Tonight's "Falling Skies" night!!

I have had SUCH fun with this show.  As soon as I got past the fanboi "but but but it's not like the book" issues way back in Season 1, It's been a hell of a romp.  Hellbeasts, vampires turbo-farking.  blatant references to the straight-gay issues we face today, faeries, faeries having multiple orgasms while giving birth to quads on a pool table, The heroine going from an introverted telepath to a an energy-ball blasting biatch who takes no shiat from anyone (and then back again, and again, and again, but hell, that's pretty much Sookie).  Randall Edgington ripping the spine out of a commentator on live tv -- Eric ripping the jaw off of a Yakuza just because.  Little titties, huge titties, pert titties, floppy titties, black, white, fae, werewolf, shapeshifter titties, and Eric's peen (on fire, no less).

In short, it's been fun.

There's been few series in the history of my television viewing that I've enjoyed more. It will be missed for sure.

Why do you need local channels? And if you do, why can't you just use a @#$%^%%$$ antenna like everyone else for the last 70 years?

Good point. I guess that just leaves sports.

I thought there were 4 episodes left, not 3.  I was the female Eric groupie equivalent of "old man yells at cloud" making fists at the TV.

This show is nothing BUT fun and this season has been great.  We just decided to opt out of "The Leftovers." The episode all about the preacher was good, but... whatever the hell is going on, neither of us can make sense of.  I am coming to enjoy "The Strain" after the way too long first episode (really did not need to be 1.5 hours.)  But it's no "True Blood."

And when it ends, Alexander Skarsgard needs an agent to get him decent roles, because by God have I watched some awful movies to look at him.

I hate this show now, but damn the Jesus freak woman is hot as hell. I'd watch a show about her.

So basically this season is all about bringing back characters from past seasons and giving us Bill's boring back season.

Meh.

The Strain is getting better each and every week, IMO.  The first episode was written by Mr. Del Toro and Mr. Hogan and suffered from some pretty clumsy/bad dialogue (as did the books) which may have turned some people off.  The bad dialogue pretty much goes away after the first episode and now that the slaying has begun, I find it quite satisfying.

I've loved, and hated, this show at times. I'm enjoying the last season, partly because there are fewer story lines, but also because I need closure on this series. It really needs to end. Besides, this (insert True Blood episode title) we get to see those awesome (insert my fark handle).

Was there a modified toilet roll holder among the items in Violet's playroom, or was that my dirty imagination?

Man...I really liked Violet at first. Sad to see her turning into a villain.

Is this just gonna be the season where everyone who hadn't already farked a vampire finally gets to?

She wasn't always on the darker side of things?  I thought it was apparent all along - there was no logical reason for everyone to accept her taking Jason when they were in the camp and he was the first fresh food they'd seen in months (and were all but starving on the small rations of poisoned True Blood). She was always just this side of losing her shiat crazy when she was around Jason, who I figured she would have killed by now.  I doubt she'll get Adelaide, but Jessica is probably not making it to the end of the show.

S., who must really love me for putting up with this show for our entire relationship (his thing for Pam doesn't hurt, I'm sure) is convinced Andy and his ever-increasing, week by week, gravelly voice, (if you think about it enough, it hits the absurd and makes his storyline much more entertaining than it has any right to be) will be the only one left, and he'll be pissed off he's sheriff of a ghost town or something.

Generally agreed, though Mr. Edgington's first name was Russell. He was excellent as the Big Bad.

For Fark's sake, why won't they let Tara stay dead! I've been begging for her to die since the 2nd episode.

I think it is starting to find it's legs. I was very hesitant to watch it originally.

I realize that as old as Violet is supposed to be she'd have a place of her own with her possessions, but some place like that near Bon Temps and she was slumming it with Jason?

Jason's wang is the big bad of season 7.
