Serious Black: Tell you what, Liz. If you truly believe the things done to our prisoners were not torture, I would agree with you if you could provide first-hand evidence that they aren't torture. Say, by undergoing those same activities. Have a professional waterboard you for a few minutes, and if you tell me afterward that it really wasn't torturous, I will believe you completely.
quatchi: Anyone else getting a giggle out of the fact that she made these batshiat remarks on Sean "I'll let ya waterboard me to prove that it isn't torture" Hannity's show?Is that actual irony is it just like rain on your wedding day?
5 star chef of tv dinners: They believe they had a right to torture them.
jjorsett: "Even before I came into office, I was very clear that in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, we did some things that were wrong. We did a whole lot of things that were right, but we tortured some folks," Obama said during a Friday press conference. We did some things that were contrary to our values."Dronin' some folks and siccin' the NSA on some folks is apparently within our values.
This About That: Apple Nut, tree, proximity.
Mentat: Dick Cheney I can at least kind of understand based on his history, but why in the hell is Liz Cheney such an apologist?

SkinnyHead: "...we tortured some folks"Folks? We rounded up some "folks" and tortured them? No "folks" were tortured. Terrorists like KSM (mastermind of 9/11) were subjected to enhanced interrogation. Was it unpleasant? Who cares. They deserved it.
Repo Man: It's funny how the above types have all but abandoned Fark these days. Retreated to places where their assertions will never be challenged, such as sympathetic Facebook pages.
Tourney3p0: Terrorists are folks.
Repo Man: Take Karen McGowan's assertion that all we have done is "Dripped some water on their face." I think that sort of thing was posted pretty regularly on Fark seven or eight years ago. Now, not so much.
quatchi: Repo Man: [i61.tinypic.com image 514x918][i58.tinypic.com image 516x904]LOL. That's funny. Obama admitting that the previous administration tortured people is somehow creating anti-US sentiment?Hey. Ya know what is actually really good at creating lots of anti-US sentiment? That's right. Torturing people.Seriously, it pisses people off.Torture is never justifiable and it rarely gets the results you want.Dershowitz's stupid 24-esque "Ticking time bomb" scenario is irrational nonsense.Anyone still defending the indefensible here completely and utterly fails at morality, rationality and humanity.*waves at narrownoggin'*
theorellior: I'd like to see Karen McGowan strapped to a table with water "dripped" on her face. Then she can make an informed decision.
SkinnyHead: Tourney3p0: Terrorists are folks. If you look at terrorists in a sympathetic light, you might call them "folks." Others call them terrorists.
Laobaojun: Before the willfully ignorant get too passionate, I love the assertion that torture "kept us safe". It got us bad intel, factually incorrect and erroneous intel, it ruined the sources guaranteeing that they would never give us anythi g worth while, and it polarized the enemy even more intensely. The '24', ticking bomb scenario is bullshiat (yes, I lost friends to IEDs, and friends were maimed by IEDs, so I feel fuqing fine saying this). This was pressure from the top, from fuqing ignorant amateurs to fuqing amateurs. The torture was based on techniques intended to get false confessions and to brainwash POWs, and were developed by the Chinese, Koreans, and Russians. Army interrogators were horrified by what had been done. The CIA and their "independent contractors" need to be held accountable for their actions.
AdamK: Repo Man: It's funny how the above types have all but abandoned Fark these days. Retreated to places where their assertions will never be challenged, such as sympathetic Facebook pages.yeah, but on the flip side their echo chambers make them look extremely stupid when they speak to normal people, so i say... let 'em go deeper
sendtodave: They don't care about anti-American sentiment. Who cares what other countries think? Fark 'em.The problem is making America look weak, by admitting fault.
