Question in the headline of the article, so I'm going with "No."

Seriously. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing Howard show up in the upcoming Doctor Strange film, because Quack Fu and Stephen Strange have some history, and it would make for a nice cameo, but then again, so would Man Thing too.

Yeah, I think he can turn up in other projects... I think he may be Marvel's Wonder Woman... too confusing to attempt a solo franchise.

/I kid
/It was pointed out Man Thing's wife apparently turned up by name/identifying marks in Iron Man 3.
//Man Thing itself was name checked in Agents of SHEILD

Would have to examine them closer up to be sure, though.

Somehow, I don't think the Marvel Studios movies need help in keeping from being too serious.

My husband is a big Howard the Duck fan from the comics. So, when that scene came on, I turned to him and was like, "I blame you".

/HATE stupid Howard the Duck

So does my son. If Marvel/Disney doesn't market a solar powered dancing plant version of that they're fools.

Just in time for Christmas.

I'm sure he'll at least be in the next Guardians a little bit, along with Cosmo. I could also see them giving him a TV or Netflix thing, but not a movie. I just want to hear Cosmo's psychic Russian anger in the next one.

I missed the scene due to having to run to the restroom. Did they use the costume from the movie, or did he look like he does in the comics?

Marvel has also trademarked Squirrel Girl but that doesn't necessarily mean she'll get her own movie.

I agree with TFA that a new Howard The Duck movie could be much better than that first one.

I disagree that there's a snowball's chance in hell it will be made.

The next flim team needs to be the Marvel Knights. DareDevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the required woman. Hell Cat, Echo or The White Tiger would work. They can be the street level heroes that defend the common man. Have The Punisher show up as an anti-hero.

She's also a mutant, which means she probably belongs to Fox. Her first story, she teamed up w/ Iron Man, but defeated Dr. Doom. She might be like Quicksilver, where she'll be in two different franchises for two different companies. That, and she's so damn overpowered that she could probably show up and win in a Star Wars movie, a Star Trek movie, the Hunger Games, Transformers, Planet of the Apes, and a Wes Anderson movie.

They probably can use her but she can't be a mutant.  Fox probably has a roster of characters they have rights to which included Quicksilver but you could see Squirrel Girl not making such a list.

Guardians came out 26 years to the day after Howard.

Apparently 28 years; August 1st 1986. It's too bad that it's not 1988, would have been a nice parallel to the movie, since that's when he gets abducted.

The reason that they just released a slew of HtD comics is because they want to cash in on a bunch of semi-casual comics readers being shocked by the stinger on the end of GotG. Cash grab, nothing more.

I can't see him getting (another) movie, but I don't see any reason they can't tag him along on another franchise. I was tickled pink to see him in the stinger (I was also happy Cosmo got a couple cameos too).

Anyways, loved the post-credit scene. I'm not a comics guy so I usually don't understand Marvel's post-credit scenes, so this was a nice surprise.

They currently filming Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio is apparently scaring the crap out of everyone with his Kingpin portrayal. They will release all the episodes at one time for convenient binge watching, the other characters' shows to follow in a similar manner.

They each get their own series, then there is a team-up series.  I think 12 episodes for each mini-series (four characters total), then 12 episodes together.

Just wondering, but doesn't Marvel own the TV rights to Spider-Man? So couldn't they include him in there, at some point, so long as they don't make a movie out of him?

Yeah...that entire post credit scene was a joke in GotG style to be a massive fake out if you weren't paying attention. There was a solid clue for more Thanos / infinity gauntlet / GotG2 stuff, specifically one of the original GotG from the comics.

So that's Adam Warlock's cocoon more than likely . It can be seen the first in GotG time the audience goes into the collector's warehouse in GotG. And during the post credit scene, it sure is busted open. Its a blink and you'll miss it kind of thing during the post credit scene, and since most people were paying attention to Howard the farking Duck and going WTF, most people missed it.

So that means there is something that will matter for the future in the Howard scene but it's far from obvious.
