Not a good analogy.  I've never seen him quit in the middle of a song.

At this point, most, if not all, Republicans are assets to Obama.  And Hillary Clinton.  They make both of them look damn good.

Yeah, as Micheal Corleone famously said... Keep your friends close and give your enemies cheap seats to the State of the Union address.

"Enemies List." And "scandals." Some of these right wingers really try way too hard wishing that Obama would do something remotely close to the the Nixon or Reagan BS so they just keep using the same labels.

The other day I was sitting in my local and a guy said "I will pay anyones tab if you can name three Ted Nugent songs, because he is a forgotten american hero"

And I said "Cat Scratch Fever, Wang Bang Sweet Poontang, and Stranglehold"

And the guy paid my tab and said "see brother you are american and a patriot what is your fav ted song"

And I said "stranglehold, because he did not write it and did not sing it and his marginal guitar was overshadowed by an amazing bass line"

He was not too happy that a brown person told him this.

I'm not so sure there's right-wing poster boy (or girl) out there with an "empty head". Every single one of them is simply capitalizing on the fact there's money to be made playing a caricature of some kind.

Limbaugh being apparently friends with Elton John is a good example of this.

Obama's a golfer, so we all know his number one enemy is that pesky varmint gopher. It's possible he's gotten it confused with Nugent once or twice, but I don't know why Ted would consider it a badge of honor that his face reminds people of a feral rodent.

Ted's been playing the same six songs for 30+ years. He's made a living off of getting right wingers to champion a draft-dodging elitist rock star who prances around stage with military weapons, but who was too chickshiat to fight when he was asked to serve. Big tough guy spends his free time now sitting in a sniper nest waiting to shoot a harmless animal that he baited into coming near him. I venture if Obama was asked what he thought about Ted Nugent, he'd just say "I don't."

That doesn't mean Limbaugh's not an asshole.  What if Elton John is just pretending to be flamboyantly gay, but in reality is a right-wing assclown?  I bet he's not even English.

In all honesty, does anyone actually listen to his music any longer?  I sometimes hear one song on the radio every month or so, that seems to be it.

I wouldn't worry about the people listening to his music. Worry about the ones who hear him speak and believe 100% of the things he says.

I still think "Stranglehold" is a pretty rad song in its own way.  The rest of his catalog is pretty bad.  "Cat Scratch Fever" makes me laugh every time.  It's so over-the-top with the innuendos.

Sadly, this is so true. I imagine there's a sizable block not too thrilled with Hillary's coronation that would welcome the chance to take seriously any candidate from the Republicans. But they seem unable to find one worth taking seriously.

Odds are better Nugent tops the enemies list of an overweight fifty-something Des Moines Stuckey's waitress after his back-of-the-1983-tour-bus handy premature ejaculation after the county fair gig last month ruined her "Ask Me About Our Fried Pickles" button and they took the replacement cost out of her tips

Ironically, this most recent hissy fit is because Ted did get bounced from a casino. And we're not talking Vegas. We're talking an Indian casino in Middleofnowhere, Idaho.

This guy's getting rejected from the county fair circuit, and he still thinks he's a big deal.

Honestly Ted, I doubt that Obama has had more than a fleeting thought about you in the ENTIRE time he has been in the White House.

I'm sure that Obama thinks Nugent is a loudmouthed, annoying prick.  But he is literally surrounded by them in Washington.  Why should he give preference to somebody who has absolutely no influence on anything?

2014-08-02 05:45:37 PM
Nugent isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because he has no top ten albums, no top ten solo singles and is no better guitarist than you can see anywhere, on any weekend, in any decent  cover band.  That gets you into the Hall of Rock and Roll Meh, not the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

On the other hand, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has little credibility due to the great acts they've kept out. So Nugent not being in there isn't a measure of a musician's talent. Not that I'm defending him.

If you really want to astir shait up with the  far righties ask  them about people who Poach- then ask  why  they support this douce that has pleaded No contest in CA and guilty in AK for violating game laws- or as I call it Poaching!  Then talk about his Military service- or lack of.

I have really P.O.ed some people off at the  gun range doing this.
