Who knew that Bob Kane had a comic book collection? I guess but of course he did.

Also, who knew that Archie Andrews had been around since 1942? Assuming that he is 17, that would make him older than John McCain, but not Bob Dole or Jimmy Carter or Poppy Bush.

Bob Kane And Bill Finger created Batman. Kane came up with the concept, a Finger suggested changes and invented Bruce Wayne, a Gotham City and write the defining stories.

They're not dead? I thought that was the whole point of batman.

It would be interesting to do a comic book based on Bob Kane's Batman crossed over with Bill Finger's Batman. Some sort of alternate universe cross-over type thing where Batman gets to see just how shiatty a superhero he would have been running around in a red and black vaguely Bat-like costume.

Glad to see the Bill Finger thing is already covered. Though, Neal Adams argues that if Finger actually wanted the credit he should have fought for it himself.

That makes Neal Adams come across like a dick. Well, more of a dick.

Bill Finger created Batman. Bob Kane was a selfish asshole who used his knowledge of Siegal and Shuster's pending lawsuit for the rights of Superman to leverage his ownership rights to Batman. He was Batman's greatest villain.

At any rate, they didn't pay either of those guys fark all to invent Batman so their later success in taking ownership over it in whatever configuration is laudable at least.

Knowing that sort of thing was really common in the early days of superhero comics, I'm surprised Kane had any of his own comics at all because he probably couldn't afford them yet.

I shall give you five dollars for it all.

He's Batman.   (Batmaaan! Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-Batmaaaan!)  (BTW - does anyone remember
another Bob Kane creation - "Courageous Cat"?  He was the star of a circa-1960 TV cartoon -
no, not Felix - with a mouse named Minute Mouse - no, not Snooper and Blabber - and he had a whole
arsenal of guns that could be used to get him out of any sticky spot.)

So what's the deal with the new Fox show?

Is it going to be another dumbed down superhero show for the masses (like Agents of Shield), or will it actually be watchable?
