You have to actually exercise if you want to eat that much.  Try swimming outside for an hour followed by some weight lifting and you would demolish all of that

And we're done here, lmao.  :D

Seriously though, that's a hell of a diet regimen.  Anyone care to explain why so much rice is in there?  Is it because it absorbs so much liquid?

I'm no dietician, but I understand simple carbohydrates to be excellent when exercising a lot. They get burned as fuel for your body.

If the rice is cooked, would it really be able to absorb much, if any, more liquid?

Matt Stone has done challanges of the weird diets like this. He's done Mike Phelps 10k diet and both Rock's old cheat diet and the Herc diet.

Kinda funny and cringey to see a buy who's not much above 100lbs eat his weight in food.

No farking thank you. And you aren't eating that much after swimming for an hour and liftibg some weights. You're taking about doing some...Herculean...training to be eating that much daily. Olympic level burning 10,000 calories a day training.

No average schlub is knocking that back in a day.

Because when you aren't a typical U.S. fatass, you actually need those carbs to burn for energy, so that the heavy working out doesn't start consuming muscle mass.

Why did the author feel like he had to eat all seven meals in a single day? As there are 7 meals, perhaps one DINNER for each day of the week?

I've been riding for two weeks now. Was injured and in bed rest for a couple+ months.
Right now I"m eating 5-7Kcalories a day and it's SUCH a pain in the ass. Takes so much time to cook and eat that much =/.
Last week, I rode 210 miles and climbed 11,000' vertical; six days on, one day off. Two rides a day.

Also, huge meals are the enemy. if your stomach gets too full or you food coma it'll be too long before you can eat more and you lose ground to your metabolism.

probably because the rice's purpose is purely calories and white is the easiest to consume in bulk. same thing for egg noodles vs spaghetti.

What's in the picture is 2 cups of cooked rice.

2 cups of uncooked rice turns into almost a half-gallon (in volume) of cooked rice.

Uncle Ottos Truck: Anybody got the calorie count on all that ?

Assuming that the meat was weighed raw the lowball guess would be around 5000 with about 500g carb and 400g protein.  There would probably be a bit more added on with the salad dressing and any oils used during cooking but if he was following a fairly standard clean bulking diet he would be keeping fats to a fairly low level, just high enough to not completely wreck his hormone levels if this was done naturally.  Although I with would tend to guess that there was some hormone supplementation going on (NTTAWWT).

True. I guess the one benefit of the web marketplace being flooded with blogs and news aggregators, is the desperation to attract eyeballs onto their sites means we get to laugh a lot of idiots doing dumb things like this.

it's not so bad. the body reglates input aned output really well. Assuming opiates/ benos and booe aren't involved. You poop a lot, but it's mostly the remenants of the calories the body thinks you don't need.
my team all agreed that when you gorge yourself you evacuate the waste an don't store it. the body can get really good at maintaining a weight, and a body fat %

When I was a warehouse selector, I was eating six meals a day, and I dropped down to around 120. I could throw cases of beef and chicken like they were toys, and I essentially ran while throwing cases for about 10 hours a night. They call selectors industrial athletes for a reason. I was training on my off days, and pretty much when I was working, I was doing nothing but running, and lifting, and doing it some more, and that was my job to exercise. It did do me well for bouncing though, and I've never been in as good a shape as that time. At 5'6" and 120, I was stronger and quicker and a damn sight more on my game on the floor than I've ever been. Throwing guys nearly a foot taller than me over my shoulder, that barely registered. Guys twice my weight? Not that much of a problem, which was usually a surprise to the lunkheads I had to deal with on the floor.

Dwayne Johnson's job is to train and be that sort of athlete. The action scenes, the choreography and sets he does for the camera, they're his job. And in getting ready for that job, he requires a LOT of energy and a LOT of protein to build the physique that he needed for that job.

As a selector, I wasn't training in the same fashion, but in order to do my job, I needed fuel. A lot of it. A lot of protein. A lot of carbs, and a LOT of vegetables and fruit. I needed the sugars, I needed the vitamins and minerals. I was eating a bunch of bananas every day just to keep my potassium up. Eggs? Three and four at a time. My cholesterol was negligible according to my doctor, who was somewhat worried about what the work would do to a man in his thirties.

The problem comes from folks who look at diets like this, and see LOTS OF FOOD, and don't realize that it's fuel for work. Bodies in motion and performing tasks require fuel to do that work. Work in the physics sense of mass put into motion over time. Bodies that are doing work need that fuel. You aren't doing the work, and your body isn't already prepared to ramp up for these task sets, and you're just dumping food into a gullet that ain't ready for it.

I was eating six meals a day. I was always hungry. Always. You can't ramp up the metabolism to throw 30 tons of product a night by hand and NOT expect some changes. 3000 cases a night, at an average weight of 25 to 40lbs, and you get a fair amount of weight tossed. It's over the course of 8-10 hours, but it adds up. Couple it with a LOT of running, and jumping and moving, and you get a serious draw on your reserves. In my case, I kept drawing on them, and lost about 40lbs, and my stamina went through the roof. Dwayne can't afford to lose mass, so he has to approach his workout in a different fashion. His work load is also designed for specific task sets, and to sculpt his body, as opposed to just doing a crap ton of work. That's HIS job. To do that job, he has had to reset his metabolism for a fairly high load of work. Look at that diet, and realize that it is designed for a workload that you're not attempting.

So what you are in essence saying bro, is that you in fact did lift?

2014-08-02 01:06:36 AM
I've been seeing a trainer/professional body builder since November.

When he first had me start my meal plans I could barely shovel down the 5 meals/day at only a total of about 1280 calories. All I felt like I was doing was eating. Eventually my physical training coupled with the diet putting that food away was easy.

My brother just started seeing him and his meal plan is at 3500 calories. It was baffling to measure out the quantity of that food.

I saw when the Rock posted this on his Instagram. Even my trainer was in awe of it. The Rock is a beast. I'd love to workout with him. Me and my wimpy bicep curls.

Yep. I'm not climbing as much as you, but it is hilly here and I put in a minimum of 60 miles a week just going to work and back. Most weeks it's about double that with pleasure or errand rides on top of the commuting.

/ Whole lotta poopin' goin' on.
