Still doesn't top An Unexpected Briefing

That's not as good as some of the others I've seen in the last year or so, but it's still rather clever, and I like this new direction. Most people ignore the safety briefing because it's so farking boring, but making it entertaining will help at least keep people from stewing over the fact that they just want to get to wherever they're going.

Personally, they should have cut to a shot of all of the kangaroos wearing life vests that they got from their pouches. That would have been great.

I just flew Virgin America last night from Las Vegas to New York. They have a quirky video too, and as I was watching it, I said to my friend who was sitting next to me that they make dying look like so much fun.

And if you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Hopefully half of the video is still Jeff Smisek's uber-punchable face telling you how much they've invested in their dispatch center while you sit in a filthy seat on a plane leaving three hours late out of O'Hare because fark you.

A 5-minute long safety video blared through the airplane's shiatty speakers is much more annoying than the live briefing done by the crew which takes all of a minute and a half.

I flew Virgin America four times in five days and I've had quite enough of that video.

A: You should probably quit flying Air WalMart if the sound is that bad.

B: You should probably quit flying Air WalMart if they can breeze through the safety video in a minute and a half. Airlines with a minimal amount of safety compliance still take far closer to 5 minutes than a minute and a half. I guess when all they have to do is point to the windows and say "Good luck!" you really CAN whittle that time down...

You actually got to fly out of O'Hare?  Last night's highlight was me on a shiatty smelly bus for three hours to get home.  Which incidentally was the exact same thing that happened the previous time I tried to make a United connection in Chicago.

Fark United.  Never again.

I've never had that happen to me -- and the Van Galder isn't really THAT bad, is it?

There you go... let it flow through you.

United sucks donkey balls and it should be yelled from every mountaintop in the land.

He waited his whole damn life to take that flight.

And as the plane crashed down, he thought: Well isn't this nice.

When the ride comes at the end of a travel day filled with failure and annoyance, it's the worst thing ever.  If only because my 30-minute flight to Madison has now become a 3-hour slog down I-90.  Plus, for whatever reason they don't go all the way to the airport so when this happens I have to call a taxi from the park & ride.

Surprised no one has mentioned the body painted Air New Zealand safety video.

TAM airlines (Brazil) is entertaining, while not really trying to be outright funny.
