NASA's SETI program was cancelled in 1993:

It's all been privately funded since then.

The only thing they discovered about humans though the probes is that one out of five enjoyed it.

Still trying to figure out why there is a Dalek in the picture, unless he is a mouth piece for them, a la The Editor/Jagrafess, trying to direct human evolution.  Which is not that unbelievable, considering the crap he believes.

Why doesn't NASA just stick with its true mission, which is to make Muslims feel good about themselves.

Religious fundamentalists, including creationists, believe themselves to be infallible. Information that challenges their claims is therefore psychologically traumatic to them. As a result, they behave irrationally both in response to information contradicting their beliefs and to pursuits that may possibly result in contradiction of their beliefs.

That mindset it weird to me...reminds of a quote (couldn't find it, so paraphrased)

Follow people looking for answers.
Not the people that have already found them.

Im christian and i absolutely believe in ets. I think those that are so adamant are just using their religion perversely in a attempt to cover psychological issues. There is nothing in the bible that rules out evolution or alien life. "Christians" like this undermine the important messages of peace and love between all people and cause the religion to be riddiculed much like it is today

By the way, I was very, very surprised and disappointed that the only picture I could find on Google Images of Jesus wielding a bat'leth was this:

So now, I've apparently doubled the number of Jesus bat'leth images.

In Ham's defense* here, that's something the article said about him, not a quote. Not that what he said isn't still pants-on-head retarded (he seems to be arguing that the research is a pointless waste of resources because the bible already has the answers), but he's not telling anyone to stop looking because it will prove him wrong.

/*This feels kinda gross.

Dear America:

Is isn't that you have right-wing Creationist loons, many countries have those, including here in Canada.

Is isn't that they manage to grab a headline or two once in awhile, many countries have that happen too, including here in Canada.

What concerns us is that these whack-doodles apparently represent an important voting block and there must have their views tolerated and pandered to, lest one 'loses votes'.

"Creationist / strong Social Conservatism" in Canada is largely a punchline. They exist, but no-one pays them any significant attention and their views are largely irrelevant to the laws of the land and the mores of society.

Please remove these whack-a-doodles from your public space. Please vigorously shout these idiots down whenever you have a chance. Yes, they are 'free' to say what they want. They are equally 'free' to be mocked relentlessly into submission.

Thanks,
Concerned Northern Neighbour

Actually, every Christian but the most extreme ones believe there could very well be intelligent alien life out there. Even the Vatican says there is likely life out there
