1) All nuclear weapon-capable countries announce that they're going to nuke Jerusalem and Mecca in 60 days, so everybody had better clear the fark out of those areas.
2) Nuke Jerusalem and Mecca.

Done.

They're responsible for themselves, damnit.

I say let him try. He seems like a fairly sharp guy, and whatever plan he comes up with can't be any worse than the previous failures.

$3 billion dollars a year buys the US a teensy bit of responsibility.

That doesn't mean anyone will listen,  but we can still say things.

$471,000 "art sculpture" in Calgary, yeah we really wanna hear how Naheed Nenshi is gonna solve the problems in the Middle East, maybe a giant red Peace Triangle?

his "wilful blindness" toward the violence that occurred at a pro-Palestinian rally July 18, despite the fact the mayor publicly condemned the acts last week.

Ha ha!  Obviously he should have led a lynch mob with torches and pitchforks or maybe fired a few rockets at whoever started the violence.

Do protests about Gaza and Israel have any effect at all?  I don't think Israel gives a shiat if people in Calgary protest.  Hamas may feel encouraged a little, but I really don't think protests in Calgary or even Paris or Tel Aviv is what's really on their mind.

I was watching some show yesterday and the guy was talking about how people all over the world are protesting Israel actions against Gaza (I think it was on RT).  So the pro-Israeli guy says 1700 people were killed in Syria yesterday, and nobody says shiat about that, but I appreciate the fact that Israel is being held to a higher standard.

I've come to the conclusion that it's all theater for us to soak up and enjoy.

What would they talk about on the news if it weren't for Gaza and Ukraine?

Just as an experiment I just checked CNN, Al Jazeera and BBC.  All 3 of them were talking about Gaza.

I checked RT, but for some reason Larry King is interviewing Craig Ferguson.  I'm sure they'll get back to Gaza and Ukraine and blaming Israel and the US shortly.

Well, they do have beer and an airline.

It also helps that arguably they have a football team and proxy nukes (via the US) too.

The most comprehensive peace plan for the Middle East is to ignore them, let them continue to kill each other, and get on with our lives. You know, like what we do with Africa.

Ezra Levant wants to be our version of Bill ORLY and he's got a hate boner for Nenshi.

He's also got the hots for mAnn Coulter, which means his opinion can be pretty much ignored and we'd be better off.

As for 2:

You do realise that Jerusalem is a holy city for Muslims as well (and Christians?).

Mohammed lept into heaven from the temple mount in Jerusalem, and his footprint is still imprinted in the rock inside the mosque there.

Nuking Jerusalem ought to be enough, no city to fight over. Everyone lost something. There's no reason to draw Mecca into this.

I understand protesting in the country you live in about some policy or law or something going on where you live that you don't like.

But I will never understand the logic behind protesting in one country about something happening half the world away in another country.  Want to change what's going on in Israel and the Gaza?  Go the FARK over there and do something about it.  It's not like people in Jerusalem will read the paper or online news and go, "Oh shiat they are protesting in Calgary, we better farking stop!"

Stop brining your old world bigotry to the new world.  Want to live here?  Leave it at the farking door when you step off that plane or boat.

The exception that proves the rule. You also voted for ultra-right wing, tea party north, bigots like, Stephen Harper, Ralph Klein, Rob Anders, Preston Manning and Jason Kenney. But yeah, that one Muslim guy is a real indicator of voting paterns.
