I've had that happen in a live game before. Of course there wasn't $25,000, $1,000,000 or $10,000,000 on the line. Still, it's a tough, tough beat to take.

eh, its better than going all-in on off suit 7/9 or some other horrible hand.  At least he lost while making the correct play.  that's bad luck, but not bad betting.  nothing to regret in playing the hand the way he did.

Yeah, like Sloth said, that is just horribly shiatty luck.  He played it correctly & would do the same thing in the same situation over & over again.  It still would hurt like hell but it really was just the way that the cards fell.

Some days you're the dog & others, like this, you're the hydrant.

Rev.K: Again?!

Apparently two players in Texas hold em going heads up with both pocket aces with a million dollar buy-in happens every day.

I hate pocket aces because it seems someone's cracking them half the time and the loss is always big.

/or maybe it just happens to me

Worst hand for me... I had pocket aces...  flop has 2 aces... I go all in... I ended up losing to a straight flush.

Problem with pocket aces, is it is hard to improve upon.  Only 2 aces left, so low chance of getting trips.  2 pair requires a pair on the board, which everyone can use.  Straight or flush you have to pull 4 cards from the board.  Against one or 2 players, a high pair is good.  If you get pocket aces and end up with 7 players in the hand going into the flop, you're not looking too good.
