So what is the big problem with planting mimes?

There's really no point in trying to conceal evidence, everybody knows what happened.  Just let them sort their dead and get their belongings already.

Can we nuke Russia yet?

How about now?

Now?

Subby, I don't think it's great at all. You're weird.

a) everyone knows who shot down the plane
b) everyone knows nothing will come of that information

so yeah, just let people sort out their dead and get on with it, you jackasses

Mr. President, we are rapidly approaching a moment of truth both for ourselves as human beings and for the life of our nation. Now, truth is not always a pleasant thing. But it is necessary now to make a choice, to choose between two admittedly regrettable, but nevertheless *distinguishable*, postwar environments: one where you got twenty million people killed, and the other where you got a hundred and fifty million people killed.

Okay, I'd settle for Putin getting beaten over the head and having his eye poked out. See, I'm reasonable.

IIRC the John Titor posts claimed WWIII would occur in 2015.  Granted everything else the man said has been wrong, so I hope it doesn't occur, at least not in this timeline or multi-verse.

Regarding MAD, wasn't it like a month or two ago somebody commented that we may be reaching a point where nobody subscribes to that theory anymore because we  haven't had to live under the threat of nuclear apocalypse for the past twenty years?

Truly it is another victory for The Shirtless Chessmaster.  While Putin plays 3 dimensional chess in space with lasers and shiat, the weak and feckless Obozo plays Don't Break The Ice.  Obama is no match for the rippling pectorals and washboard abs of this Slavic Adonis.

FYI, nuking Russia would be a very, VERY bad idea.
See, remember Doctor Strangelove? The comedy where a rogue general ends up tripping off a Russian doomsday device? Well, it turns out it's more reality than fiction. Russia built it. It's called perimeter, and it is still working.

That's not why they did it; it's an active battlefield now as the Ukrainian government forces continue to advance.

This. Short of filming a four-hour telethon entitled "Whoops, we shot you down because Vladdykins gave us some cool new toys and we haven't figured out how to use them responsibly", it really can't get a whole lot clearer at this point.

Well it would fix overpopulation and climate change all at once.

You've got to think like a Russian to explain why you have virtually nothing to do with anything bad that is happening:

Run article on RT about how Ukraine deployed SAMs to the area prior to Malayasian airliner crash

Remove any evidence you can while claiming to protect integrity of crash site

Deny laying mines that you placed to prevent any other investigation

If caught laying mines, say you did it to prevent adversaries from planting evidence

On and on...

The Ruskies simply BS their detractors to ad-nausium and til' the end of time.

The fact I laughed when I read the headline might make me a bad person.

The fact I predicted ethnic death squads in eastern Ukraine by August might make me a bad person.

The fact I placed money on it... Well, if you're making predictions and don't have any risk, you're no better than the majority of the talking heads.

No problem. Suddenly, Chetchens turn out to be armed with nifty toys like fancy remote controlled bombs and missiles. Start tearing up Moscow. Where did they get the stuff? Nobody knows. Nobody can prove a thing. You're on the train to crazytown and they're serving free booze....

/and off course, start seizing the Oligrachs fancy stuff abroad.....

We should hack the Chinese or NORK infrastructure (or Russian) and "accidentally" launch a small tac nuke in Russia.

OOPS!!! What were YOU GUYS thinking?!?!?

A small nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan (10-15 Hiroshima sized bombs) whould significantly fark over the entire planet. An exchange with Russia and maybe in 10 million years life will once again rise on Earth.

Ukraine claims crash area mined

Ukrainian government security spokesman Andriy Lysenko added to security concerns Wednesday by claiming that separatists "have mined the approaches to this area. This makes the work of the international experts impossible." Even if rebels leave, he said it would take time to remove the mines and make the area safe.

Nukes? Why? They are certainly good for destroying entire population centers. But what's the point in that really?  Drop a few cluster munitions on the front lines and ask them to please return to their homes.
