I'm fairly sure that the UN doesn't house Hamas weapons. So why was this hit?

It doesn't matter.  Nobody is going to do anything about it.  Israel has carte blanche and they know it.

In other news, UN admits they found a third UN school used as a rocket cache, i wonder if in this case the rockets will be "misplaced" by the UN personnel again.

New York, 23 July 2014 - Statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on weapons at UNRWA school in Gaza

The Secretary-General is alarmed to hear that rockets were placed in an UNRWA school in Gaza and that subsequently these have gone missing. He expresses his outrage, and regret, at the placing of weapons in a UN-administered school. By doing so, those responsible are turning schools into potential military targets, and endangering the lives of innocent children, UN employees working in such facilities, and anyone using the UN schools as shelter.

First sentence again: Yesterday, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered approximately 20 rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip.

Now, I could be wrong, but if those buildings were vacant, then it stands to reason that they were not filled with refuges like the one bombed in TFA.  Indeed, you could make the argument that empty buildings was the safest place Hamas could put the things.

Okay, but those are from a week ago.

Are there any indication that this particular UNRWA school had rockets inside, thus validating it as a potential military target?

It wouldn't make it a valid target anyway.  It's not like they couldn't simply send infantry to take the missiles.  The school was shot up by gunfire from tanks so this wasn't some sort of long range air strike, there were ground forces right there.

I'm pretty sure the validity goes out the window when the UN takes up residence in there and starts moving refugees in there.

okay, to normal people, it would no longer be a valid military target. Maybe putting refugees in there makes it a *more* valid target to others

Because it's safe for the UNRWA inspectors to inspect a school while it's not vacant and whoever put the rockets there is inside?

Just out of curiosity, if you wanted to know about a civil unrest in China, do you believe what you read in the Chinese state media? Do you believe RT when you want to hear about news regarding Putin's Russia?

While the media in the West comes off as independent, they still very much have an agenda and those two you cited aren't innocent of that. Especially since the Christian Right in this country (that breitbart panders to) wants Israel to kill off the Palestinians.

No, but if i find several citations in other news sources from all over the world then it's more likely to be true. The report on the third UN school used by Hamas is from a few hours ago, as you can see from my previous post, the news is spreading.

What about the Italian reporter ? who had to wait until he was out of Gaza to report what he saw ? If you think it's beneath Hamas to bomb their own civilians and claim it was Israel than you don't know Hamas.

No, the initial assessment was that mortar fire came from the general vicinity of the school, and the military responded by firing back in that general direction.

Let's note that 1) the Israeli military have been informed that the area contains a UN school and 2) the Israeli military possess greater military precision and capabilities and 3) the Israeli military has better military intelligence. In such circumstances, greater care should've been taken by the Israelis to avoid hitting UN refugee buildings.

Based on the source, it's probable that it's video of another building that had rockets fired from. It's like placing a shiatload of stock in Fox News when they tell us that they have "irrefutable proof of Obama's impeachment!"

Sure, there's a slight chance that they do actually have an impeachable offense, but anyone with half a brain is going to be *very* skeptical about it.

You're right. Israel should just sit back and allow the palestinians to bomb israeli cities on an hourly basis.
Hell, we should just move to the bomb shelters permanently.

The attack on Gaza can end in the next 5 min. All Hamas has to do is stop bombing Israel.

Just say "I've never been to the army and never fought a war against a terrorist organization in an urban setting besides Call of Duty IV".
Israel takes great efforts to limit civilian casualties which are unparalleled in the history of modern warfare. Shame Hamas does the exact opposite.
