I wouldn't be providing much effort either if I had to throw a First Pitch to Santa Claus.

Unless I decided to uncork my best fastball to hit that MFer in the ribs.

Some former high school athletes went into music after suffering an injury, Nuno Bettencout comes to mind. Then you just have people who have never been athletic at all like Jack, but Im sure be turned playing with Megs boobs into a sport!  But as always if you can't be an athlete you can be an athletic supporter

Maybe he only throws worth a shiat if Brendan Benson's helping him out, too.

That's not the worst first pitch ever. I do wonder, though, why these people doing these things, and it goes for all sports, like Diana Ross and her spectacular World Cup penalty, why they don't spend a minute practising what it is they're about to do.

2014-07-30 12:01:12 PM
Ted Nugent could throw faster, harder, further.

Should've stuck with baseball, Jack, you're better at it than writing music.

Same.  Half the time famous people throw out the pitch they can't even make the plate.

If you have to throw the first baseball out in front thousands of people, wouldn't you, you know, practice first?

He's just there for the fun of the game.  He's like a kid out there.

Lazaretto wasn't that bad.  It was amazingly mediocre, though.  I liked Blunderbuss overall, but Lazaretto just didn't have a single track that stood out to me.

At least he got it to the plate.

Jack White is a great example of The Emperor's New Clothes.  He is awful, just awful.  It's hard to believe he is making those sounds on purpose and nobody tried to stop him.  But the hipster press just fellates him.

If any of you ever have to throw out a first pitch, I have a suggestion for you. Throw it side arm, you have better control and wont look silly.

Has an old 1930s Delta bluesman ever thrown out the first pitch? No? Then how can we expect Jack White to know how to do it?

I'll start by saying that as a teenager in the 80's, I probably wouldn't disagree with your opinion of what is "good music".

But when you hear a JW song, you know it is JW. He knows how to write, record and produce good catchy rock and roll with a minimalist approach.

Is he Steve Vai? Nope. Is he Rob Halford? Nope. Is he unique and creative? Yes. I've got a lot of his work in my iPod and rarely skip ahead when his stuff comes on in shuffle.

Better than I would've done. The hard part is distance - everything is a lot further apart in major league than anything you're used to if you just screw around with baseball in HS/college/weekends.

For what it's worth (and this flick gets brought up whenever FARK talks about him) In "It Might Get Loud" Jack White comes off as a deer in the headlights as you watch him listen to Page and the Edge, but White is clearly the most well-rounded musician of the three.
