This announcement is so laden with marketing speak and bullsh*t it sounds like satire, I honestly can't tell.

Cool tag?  Really?

It's a good series of books, but they're written and done.

I fully expect that deals are being made to start up an "expanded universe" for "Harry Potter". Like "Star Wars". Farm out new novels to new authors.

The potential money to be made is too huge, and Rowling has pretty much lost interest in writing more stuff (and rightfully so).

Sometimes, most times, a story needs to end.

I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but I suppose it's like James Bond or Star Trek and can be run for as long as they want to with the awarness that they will have hits and misses.

The new Harry potter land at universal is a cash cow on its on. They sell 40+ dollar wands that have an rfid chip so you can make shiat happen in certain areas. I saw a lot of adults buying those.

There's a trilogy being made right now about the "Magical beasts" that has nothing to do with HP himself.  So that's happening.

They'd have justifiably called it "The Search for More Money", but that was already copyrighted.

Seriously, the Potter books were surprisingly good, deep at some moments, and overall very pleasing to read.  On the other hand, the whole "Wizarding World" is full of nearly naked plot devices and Mary-Sue-ism, and can't really stand well on its own as a "franchise", outside the original coming-of-age story of Mr. Potter and friends.  Milking it to death for cash, while inevitable, is still a sad comment on the state of all modern commercial art.
