If they filled 2 hours of screen with this, there'd be no other reason to ever make another movie. EVAR!

I never really got Deadpool until that, that was pretty cool, more personality and fun in that little clip than the character had in the entirety of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I've never read the comics but I would WATCH THE SH*T OUT OF THAT MOVIE.

There is more personality in that clip than most characters have in an entire movie. The only thing it lacks is subtlety, which is the opposite of what it should possess.

Even Adolph Purrer over there likes this movie. Look at him, on the TV, hatin' the other species of animals. Who's a hateful little kitty. YOU ARE.

This bit of test footage has been amazingly well received amongst fans. So, of course, Fox will hand it over to Singer for the homoerotic black leather treatment. Or the dude who's directing the current abortion of a Fantastic Four movie. So he'd be an irish-mexican or something. Also against murder.

This movie will never be made into the hard-R, self-aware meta movie it needs to be.

This might be a working version for the "Sorry, this video does not exist" crowd, if you're ready to accept the existentialist conundrum this creates.

Reminded me of the Punisher short w/ Tom Jane. It seems the only actor who's really into his role and actually gets movies made is Jackman. And we all see where this has lead...

Wolf892: This seems exactly like the movie that could get Ryan's career back on track. Everyone who said he'd be perfect for the character has been vindicated. This was an awesome minute and a half of video.

MAKE THIS HAPPEN HOLLYWOOD!

Ryan has no reason to be in any movie.  Every movie he is in is garbage and he's the main reason for it.  God I hate that guy, short seemed ok be interesting how an entire movie would be like.

2014-07-30 06:13:03 AM
That was magnificent. I can but hope for the two hour treatment, but until such time that one that matches this level of perfection is made, let's face it.

this clip IS the deadpool movie.

Why the love for this trailer?  Seems like Ryan Reynolds doing his usual shtick. Unless that's the personality of the Deadpool character. I've never read the comic books.

No annoying voices, irreverent (read: Not crazy to show how crazy he is) AND proper violence? Sounds good.

Classic Deadpool would make for a great popcorn flick. Get working on that Fox.

Ryan Reynolds perfectly channels the character, and he was made for this role.

I think a lot of the comic fans are saying that's how the character is in the comic but you have to remember there are not that many comic fans compared to people that want to see an action movie.  Do we really need another R.I.P.D.?

He is talking to the audience which does show he's kind of nuts, but it's Deadpool and it works how they did it.  The violence is also very necessary, and if Fox doesn't have the balls to make a proper R rated Deadpool movie then I'm happy that they don't bother trying, or else we'll get another X-Men Origins: Wolverine piece of shiat, and I'd rather have no Deadpool movie than one that bad.

Comic fans are disappointed if the superhero movie they want to see turns out to be a braindead action movie without character development. But that would be the perfect Deadpool movie. So everybody wins.

/As long as we get some decapitation and funny one liners. Didn't Reynolds improv most of his Blade 3 part?

It's the perfect depiction of the character.

Ryan does Deadpool in other movies hoping they'll make this one into a feature.

The rights to Punisher (along with Blade, Daredevil, Elektra, and a number of other characters) reverted to Marvel/Disney last year.

Which is why after casting Reynolds as Deadpool in the Wolverine movie, their next step was to have the character's lips sewed shut so that the "Merc with a Mouth" was mute for most of his screen time.

Let us never speak of that abomination of a film again. Please. Between friends, let's just put this in the same file as that Highlander film that was never made that made the Highlanders immortal aliens and would have otherwise blemished the career of Sean Connery.

The reason the Iron Man franchise is so successful is that Robert Downey, Jr. has a lot of Tony Stark's personality in real-life.  Reynolds and Deadpool share similar personality traits; Reynolds works really well by making pop culture references and breaking the fourth wall.

Deadpool is insane, and thinks he's in a comic book - he's right entirely by accident, which gives him an ability to make astute observations on the tropes of the genre.  It's like watching a movie with both a narrator and an MST3K peanut gallery inside the protagonist's head.

I liked it,I don't think a full movie would work though. May I suggest instead doing shorts leading into the main movies like the squirrel in the ice age movies?
About 5 minutes long, evolve see some action gets a laugh and away we go.

2014-07-30 08:26:08 AM
I've never been the biggest Deadpool fan, but I liked that little short. Like the one guy said above though, the schtick would get old after the first 15 minutes or so. Doing little shorts at the beginning of different Marvel movies would work IMO.

/Let's hope these guys are wearing their brown pants.

"I hope they wore their brown pants"

I actually liked the Origins movie...except for whatever it was they turned DP into at the end.
I haven't read enough of the comics to figure out how they could pull a 2 hour movie that would appeal to more than just the fans but I'd like to see them try :)

I have never read a Deadpool comic. Hell I don't think I have read a comic in about twenty years, and even back then I was strictly a Spiderman fan.

I would watch the shiat out of this movie.
