(KLTV Tyler)   Texas mayor arrested for official oppression by blocking a woman in her own driveway and suggesting she trim her grass. And by "trim her grass," I mean, "you know exactly what I mean"   (kltv.com) divider line 102

IIRC that's known as a chin strip beard.

I've seen them locally, but generally on young men.

It's a smallish town (population under 1,500). Wouldn't be surprised if he's done this before and got away with it because he's the mayor.

It's already been said but he should be arrested for the douchebag facial hair.

If you drove through it, you would think it to be half that, at least.

Hawkins, TX, curiously, is the home of a world-class guitar shop, Action Sound.  It's small, but they do it all.  The owner built me a custom electric 12-string.

Or it could be that he parked in front of her driveway because he wasn't paying attention, handed her his card and asked about the food trailer in the drive with the for sale sign, offered pricing advice like an ass, and told her she was risking a ticket because he didn't realize it was properly registered.  And commented on her lawn. Asshole?  Oh, yeah.  But I fail to see how it was illegal.  Jesus - there's a reason you can't arrest someone just for being an ass.

The fact that he was booked tells us that, while he may be mayor, the cops farking hate him.

Sounds plausible, but not if you've lived in a small town like that one.  Nobody goes to someone's house to fark with them without already knowing them and having some (usually ill-conceived) reason to fark with them.  He knew her.  He had his own reasons to fark with her and she had her own reasons to tell him to fark off.

And yes.  The cops (usually only one or two) must not like him either.

Since when can a mayor of any kind of a town give tickets?

Sounds kind of like the town I used to live in. Except our mayors weren't douchebags. The cops were exceptional assholes, though. Boy, was I shocked when the chief of police was found out to have been doing all kinds of things like this. But I knew it anyway--I'd had a few "encounters" with him myself.

Ah, small town life.  I do not miss you.  These are the people who support states rights and say that they should be able to decide which of their neighbors deserves any "handouts" and which subjects are most important in the town school curriculum.

FTA  While there, the woman said the mayor also asked her how much she was selling a portable concession stand stand that was parked in her driveway. When the woman told him the price, the mayor allegedly told her the amount was too high and she would have to remove it or risk a $500 ticket every day.

Unlawful detainment.  Asshole, get out of the way.  Or you go to jail.

I once had a busy body rent a cop threaten myself and the wife with this during LV NYE festivities.  I simply asked the one on-duty cop if we were being detained.  If not, would he please escort us to the restaurant that we had reservations at, across the street during the NYE street party.  We were not paying $10 each for a useless wristband for dinner arrangements.  He grunted, laughed and took us across. After dinner, we came back with free wrist bands (and festive hats) and left without further harassment.  The NYE street party on Fremont still sucked.  The overhead is awesome, the beggars and porn slappers not so much.  $20 cab ride back to the hotel was well worth it.
