PunGent: Ghryswald: Subby has OBVIOUSLY never had a Kelly's Roast Beef.
Otherwise he'd have flagged it with the HERO tag.

In other news ... tornado in frikkin Revere?

Yep.  The wife works out in Acton (near Rt. 495) and they've had two tornado warnings this summer already.

/no, that ain't normal for Massachusetts

Now, the important stuff, the roast beef:  Kelly's is fine, but I'm a fan of Mikey's in Billerica.  Awesome curly fries.

Mikey's was FANTASTIC, haven't been there in years. The cheeseburgers.... now that is where it's at. The trimmings of the roast beef and steak tips... OH MY.

Does this mean we have to hear about ROAST BEEF STRONG for the next two years?

I always liked Harrisons Roast Beef in North Andover.

Or that place in Wilmington near the Ford dealer (Simards?) but mostly because it was open till 3.

And Kappy's made me lulz. Forgot about that place.

Revere is a coastal city so I'm expecting instagram photos of sharks attacking people any minute now.

Kelly's is great if you don't have to live near it. If you do live near it I hope you like cleaning up all of the trash the patrons throw i your yard.

Into the blue again: mike_d85: Where was the Kelly's made out of an old Krispy Kreme?

Just south of Medford at the MBTA repair yard. Aka, the T stop with the never ending glass walkway.

Medford/Everett. Next to Wellington Station.

Where they had a Bickford's. OLGBro worked there cooking, MrsOLG went there with friends for bottomless coffee and for dessert. Loved the chicken.

When I lived there in Beverly during the 90's, the Kelly's roast beef sandwich was crazy nasty.  Tasted like a week old spoiled Arby's sandwich with lower quality meat.  Tried the sandwich a couple of times, and never went back.  Wouldn't have trusted the clams and lobster roll, but with the comments above I was thinking about swinging by next time I'm in Boston.  Still wouldn't get the roast beef.  Even after 20 years I vividly remember the nasty taste and texture.  I was actually looking around at other peoples sandwiches to try and figure out if mine was messed up.

I funny'ed this one.  I'm sure there are some nice people somewhere in Revere, but...everything that represents what people hate about Boston starts right there.

I heard it completely obliterated Angie's Clams.

To be fair, that is the only place in Revere that anyone cares about.

But King's in Salem is way better.

Amen to Mikey's!   The roast beef was amazing and the fried scallops were pretty good, too.

Never tried 'em.  I have a hard and fast rule:  don't order seafood unless you can SEE the ocean.

And not always then, either.

MBP2112: My poor, poor hometown...  In the past week there's been 3 shootings, and now this?  Maddon'!  The city just put up a big billboard on Rt1 N as you come into the city touting "THE NEW REVERE" as "A GREAT PLACE TO RAISE A FAMILY"

Well, a big enough tornado WILL raise your family...and your house...and your car...

Kings is #1 for fish & chips, but Bill and Bob's forever.

I think I read this on Fark yesterday: "Revere is like the Jersey Shore but without the class."

Hahaha. So true. I swear people still drive Irocs there and use Aquanet for their big huge hair. One man in ten is wearing a shirt. Lots of white zinfandel. Terrible place.

Signed, Quincy

Bit far for me to make a roadtrip to either Mikey's or Kelly's these days.
Might just grill a bit of Roo on the barbie tonight to make up for it.
