(Talking Points Memo)   After refusing to take federal money to expand Medicaid in his state, MS Gov. Phil Bryant, says the jump in the number of uninsured people in his state since the ACA took effect is "yet another example of a broken promise from Barack Obama,"   (talkingpointsmemo.com) divider line 193

Uninsured down nationwide
Uninsured up in YOUR state
Yup, must be a problem with that nationally-enacted law

Fewer uninsured folks in Mississippi means the ACA is not working? Dude, that was the whole point, to have fewer folks without health care.

If there was a demonstrable jump in uninsured people, that's good. fark Republican morons.

Meh.

Boehner's lawsuit is just tactical posturing. He wants to be elected Speaker again. He knows allowing the Teatards to impeach like they want would get the GOP shat upon come December, but he also needs their support. The lawsuit is stupid, and he knows it, but it doesn't take much to make simple-minded folks happy.

You should like the lawsuit too. With Cantor out, it would be a total coin toss as to who got the Speaker. Better the mainstream conservative you know that the wing nut you don't.

If he somehow retains speakership, he'll personally lead the impeachment charge come January. He just wants the elections to happen without that shadow hanging over it.

When Taxbongo got elected, he said that he would go outside of the law and usurp power when Republican governors stood against him.  Well, here's a Republican doing exactly that, and yet, Taxbongo has not usurped all power.  But please, continue to explain how Taxbongo has not broken a promise.  Lol.

So... in your deranged mind - the worst possible outcome of this fiendishly evil plan is to enact first-world healthcare, saving our citizens untold millions?

Except for the people who are too poor to be covered without the Medicaid expansion, can't afford insurance without it, and are receiving an exemption because they are too poor.

Republican governors farked over the poor in their own states.

2014-07-28 09:18:06 PM
Mississippi is a shiathole for the poor and disadvantaged. Always has been, and always will be. The poorest area in the ENTIRE United States is in the northwest part of that state.

Especially when you have colossal, old Southern guard people like Bryant in power who still ascribe to the belief that the poor are all leeches on the system that would be more productive if they would just work harder.

And why shouldn't he? He's banking on there being enough morons to start slobbering at the sound of this nonsense that it will get him elected, and that's probably a safe bet. If he told the truth, they might not vote for him.

Obama promised an end of partisanship. He promised a functional government that would put special interests in their place. To punish Wall Street, kick out lobbyists, close hormone, etc.

He has not delivered.
