vodka: Irish alcohol tolerance sucks, they take 20 drinks like it's nothing. Native American alcohol tolerance on the other hand totally rocks. 4 drinks and I'm plastered. Awesome and cheap. Jeans, how do they work?

Wrangler or Levi's?

I usually put them on one leg at a time, pull them up, button, then zip.

Well I'm Irish born & bred, living in Dublin, 6'3", 200lbs, and my absolute limit is about 7 pints over the whole night, I'd be farked after that.

Mugato: Savage Belief: Oldiron_79: If someone posted such a sign for no fried chicken and watermelon eating nubians people would be offended.

But it didn't, so why are you being a racist jackass?

How is that racist? He was saying that some stereotypes are laughed at and some make the person saying it worse than Hitler.

What if the sign read: "No Indian Drunks"?

You have to call it "fir water" or they don't understand.

Pacing is important. Also, I can't recall in three bicycle tours of Ireland ever seeing someone truly drunk. London, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh, hell, yes...tripping over the self-pissing garglers.

I credit the high cost of booze and the difficulty of operating certain Irish instruments after pint number three.

We were not allowed to have whiskey when as kids. We were given beer! My mother did soak cloths pins in Whiskey, for when we were teething.

After a barrage of negative feedback from the Irish American community...

Also known as "my father's mother's second cousin was Irish, thus I am Irish American".

No fat Americans is redundant. Seriously, we as a people have got to examine why we're so fat. This isn't normal.

Sooo... not Irish at all?

It's well enough known that Americans like to pretend to be Irish enough that there is a term for it: plastic paddy.

I'm always the buzzkiller on this topic, being of recent Irish descent and having lost family members to alcoholism.  I understand the problem of Irish drinking as much as anyone.

The "No Irish Drunks" sign was great.  I'm fine with the self deprecating humor.  If you're offended by the sign, stay sober and prove it wrong.

Exactly. The Irish in America embraced gallows humor long ago.

The Irish already went through that stage of the Great American Welcome. Now it's the Mooslems, Mexicans and children's turn as targets of abuse and racism and the Irish now get to join in on the vile hatred and derision Americans have for centuries used to welcome those yearning to breathe free to it's shores.

Another Irish (as opposed to "Irish") guy here, and the sign is annoying.

Much more annoying is how the fecking feckers dotted the capital "I"s in their hand-drawn "SENSITIVE" sign put up after the protest.

Actually, though I was born in Ireland, I didn't grow up there. So yeah, I'm probably not 'Irish enough' for you, and I can live with that. Please continue with your small mindedness.
