...a ban that has since been lifted.

Christ, what an asshole.

Seriously, just last month Cruz was whining at the Faith and Fundie gathering that America's foreign policy had "collapsed" on Obama's watch and meanwhile he's been spouting BS excuses to try to prevent an embarrassingly large number of Ambassadorial candidates to global hot spots from being vetted in the Senate.

This guy guy needs to STFU and GBTW.

He's just pissed that he has to fly from DC back to his legal home in Canada before flying to visit his parents in Cuba.

I'm sure Issa is planning to begin hearings as we speak

Someone should let him know about fark. We had a thread about the ban being lifted three days ago, on July 24th.

You're a disgrace, Ted Cruz

2014-07-27 01:26:22 PM
bring them all to the floor for a vote and stop farkign around
dealing with these assholes is a waste of time
change the rules and move on

the IDEA, that this will work in their favor is a red herring ...
if we get NOTHING done when we have the votes, what is the point ?

2014-07-27 01:34:37 PM
So Ted Cruz is willing to sabotage the US in order to make some half witted political point? Say it isn't so.

Meanwhile in Teatardia:

Oh, let's be fair, he wasn't going to allow ambassadors to be appointed for any damn reason. Don't you know that there's a Democrat in office? The best way to deal with two Presidential election losses for your party is to shut down everything and whine constantly like a petulant child. That's the responsible thing.

Republicans have largely stopped allowing the Senate to take procedural shortcuts that had enabled the chamber to breeze through blocs of nominees.

Seeing as how the democrats eliminated the filibuster, there is no reason for republicans to permit "procedural shortcuts" which would allow unqualified nominees to "breeze through" without being properly vetted in the Senate.  We don't need a bunch of unqualified political nominees being sent off to global hot spots without proper vetting.

How would a Republican know who was qualified and who wasn't?

He says this while also blaming the Dems for congressional gridlock. There is no one in this country I would most like to punch in the face.

I think we need to land Ted Cruise in the middle of a battle zone so he can do a little research on the subject.

2014-07-27 02:26:38 PM
I would have gone with "airlines". I understand why we don't run aircraft carriers aground in combat zones.

I'm just thankful these repubtards aren't directing the war machine right now.

We'd be in a land war with Iran. We'd be in a land war with Russia in the Ukraine. We'd be slaughtering palestinians at the behest of their Israeli masters, We'd still have big armies in Iraq, Osama would still be alive.

What a much, much darker world it would be.

Take a hint assholes, nothing you say or do is good, smart, or right. You would spread a pall of evil across the land with a big cross symbol leading the army of slaughter.

Look he has Faux News behind his misinformation campaign, and so the TeaBaggers think he is hot stuff. I can't wait till the birthers are tied into knots explaining why his Canadian birth is ok, but Obama's Hawaiian birth (or even if you accept their theory of Kenyan birth is not)

He can't go to Cuba or live in Canada anymore as he renounced his Canadian citizenship. I'm sure that's one form the Canadians were happy to sign.

Except that the FAA has had a no fly in the Ukraine since April. The other countries the Megyn Kelly mentioned in her hit piece also have had flight restrictions.

True - although handing out ambassadorships as favors to your political allies is nothing new in this country.  Not terribly concerning, since ambassadors don't really have much power or authority to do anything.

I'm far more concerned about the bigger underlying issue, which is our completely broken and dysfunctional campaign finance system.

I did not know that.  How does a single senator in the minority party block a nominee before vetting can take place?

Someone would have to explain to the senator, in small words, why it's a bad idea for planes to fly into an airport at the risk of being hit by a rocket.
