Hmm, I figured a disgruntled Browns fan would be more of a grave-pooper than a grave-pisser. Live and learn.

/Plus one Subby. I LOL'd.

I think this is actually a proper form of voiced disapproval. Why should you be immune to criticism after you die? In fact, I find the fact that no one has tried to urinate on George Preston Marshall's grave a total travesty.

They wanted to give Modell the ol' Clevleand Steamer?

Once identified by police the fan will be given a big parade by the city of Cleveland.

That man will never have to buy his own drink in Cleveland again.

Did he deface the grave site?  oh no, he basically did the same thing that happens with it rains.

Big deal, I'll reserve my disgust for something like a naked boob on live TV.  You know, Something REALLY big and important.

/And no, i wouldn't care if it were any of my family's sites.

Well out of the colts and browns owners that moved Modell is worse since he had a rabid fan base who were loyal and the city was going to make improvements to their home but that wasn't good enough.

The colts only wanted improvements to make fans come back and feel comfortable yet instead the locals figured it would be better to grab the team by imminent domain laws.

Ravens fans and Baltimore should be ashamed but they rooted for a murderer for 15+ years so its a safe bet they have no shame.

Only thing I can see him getting charged with is public urination, unless there is a law in Ohio about peeing on a grave.

If not for a shiatty owner, yes they could be but at least Cleveland isn't stuck with Fucco as QB.

I find the hypocrisy in the Ravens' fans' indignation to be amusing, as if none of them wouldn't willingly lay a turd on Robert Irsay's tombstone.  Hell, they've had the Ravens for 20 years, two superbowls, and they still boo the Colts whenever they come into town.  IIRC, Mayflower trucks not infrequently have things thrown at them when they drive through Baltimore.

Anyway, when the city of Cleveland planned the Gateway sports complex back in the early 1990s, the original idea wasn't to build the baseball stadium and basketball arena that were eventually constructed, but to build a football stadium.  Modell refused to be a part of the plan, because it meant that the Indians would be direct lessees of the stadium paying rent to the city, rather than sub-lessees paying rent to the Browns.  Modell preferred to be king of the dungheap that was the decrepit Municipal Stadium rather than give up that revenue.  Which is what eventually happened when the city decided to build a new baseball stadium for the Indians, instead.

Then, a few years later, he comes out and says he can't make money at old Municipal Stadium and he has to move the team, when the city was prepared to build him a new one just years before and he spurned them because the deal would only give him 98% of what he wanted.  Bob Irsay moved the Colts to Indianapolis in the middle of the night because the Baltimore and the State of Maryland were getting ready to steal the team out from under him; Modell moved the Browns to Baltimore because he was a greedy farker.

What's next? Will they dig up the earth around the grave and arrest the worms for eating human remains?

Dead is dead. Whatever you think of a dead person, they are still just dead, and unless the guy exposed himself (which he didn't), the state attorney doesn't have a pot to piss in.

It's just an empty shell now. Art Modell has taken his place among the honored dead in Stovokor.

OMG, who the hell cares? It's a piece of ground. Modell is dead. This guy peed on the ground. Lots of people pee on the ground. Let's send this to the State Attorney!

I'm waiting anxiously for the scene where the PUI give a description of the Unsub to a room of Baltimore PD in a tag team form of communication.

PUI 1: Our Unsub likely lives alone and has recently experienced a traumatic event, such as the loss of a loved one, or a septic tank issue.

PUI 2: Or heeling a beefer down the drain

PUI 3: Our Unsub probably works in the manly trades of construction or welding

PUI 4: And most likely has eyes red from tears from September till early October when the Browns are usually mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Well, Baltimore County P.D.'s only TV depiction was in the award-winning series Homicide: Life on the Cul-de-Sac, so I imagine they probably have time for this.

I asked a Browns fan at work (an oddity in Steelers Country) what he would've done if he went to Modell's grave.  He said he'd have a beer.

FTA: Cops have finally identified the Cleveland Browns fan who peed on the grave of late Baltimore Ravens owner Art Modell ... and now the case is the hands of the State Attorney ... TMZ Sports has learned.

From the Inside of a lead-lined mahogany casket that is surrounded by tarpaper, asphalt, steel rails and two layers of concrete, Nineteenth Century entrepreneur and company town ruler George Pullman opens his eyes and says: "I hope Art thought ahead like I did."

/Dick Cheney had better be taking notes.  Sees a lot of waterboarding in his future after his burial.

At least this wasn't a Portland, Oregon graveyard... they would already have re-sodded the entire cemetery by now, along with half the adjacent properties.

After what Modell pulled i do not blame the man.

Yeah out of the two scenarios, Modell is the bigger douchebag and Baltimore did what they believe Indy did to them when what really happened was their elected officials farked them over by playing hardball and lost.

I have zero sympathy for them and unitas is a moron for supporting the city over what actually happened.

Come on guys, yeah it is just a plot of ground and a rotting hunk of meat, but it is what it represents.

It is disrespectful to the living (the relatives) and the memories they have of the guy. It transcends sports issues.
