(IndyStar)   If you leave your kid home alone, you get in trouble. If you leave your kid in a locked car, you get in trouble. So sometimes you're forced to take your kid with you when you go out to sell some drugs. "He doesn't know what's going on"   (indystar.com) divider line 22

She probably served as "middle man" for her brothers penis too,  hence the babby.

Sweet, we arrested some small time heroin dealers and will incarcerate them for a decade at only 50k a pop.

Wehad last night, here in Albuquerque, a couple guys popped for DUI and child endangerment, drive through at a Jack in the Box, clerk noticed driver had a rifle in his lap, called cops. Found 4 weapons, both guys drunk, passenger holding an 8 month old in a dirty diaper.
Bet those guys had some 'splainin' to do.

I had no idea they accepted deliveries through the drive-thru.

While searching Moody's home, police opened a safe, where they reported finding controlled substances, including morphine, more heroin, syringes and a loaded .38-caliber handgun.

Syringes are illegal until you are diabetic then they become legal. The US has some interesting laws.

Two wrenches and a piece of chain. Legal as fark. Then there's this:

Though that was the purpose of the diaper.

I have this mental picture of a crowded court full of women and screaming babies with the clerk saying "Today your honor we have 12 women charged with being in the possession of a baby with a soiled diaper."

How old does a kid be to be able to leave them home alone?

/my daughter will be 12 in December.

In college I stopped by a friend's house at lunch and another couple was there with a toddler just running around while they passed around a bowl. It was just common place for them I guess because not one other person seemed concerned.

I would say it depends on their propensity for doing stupid shiat when you are around.

I was a 'latch-key kid', came home to an empty house after school starting about 10.  Nobody got home until 5 so that's 2+ hours 'home alone' but I had to call mom's workplace and do the dishes everyday once I got home.  After that it was homework, then playing with friends or watching TV until dinner.

I remember being 7 or 8 and walking home from school with a friend and no adults responsible for us in the immediate area.  It was about a half-mile and we had to cross Clayton Road which was one of the main thoroughfares in Concord, CA.

I find it fascinating how broken some people are. Really? In your mind this is  probably what happened? She and her brother  probably had a kid together?

Your brain broke.

It varies by state. In Colorado there is no specific age, if someone reports a child alone the police will do a "welfare check" and determine the kids ability to take care of themselves. I am rolling the dice with my 12 year old this year. After school she will be home alone for a couple hours till I get off work.

Legally? Depends on the state's laws.

Practically: depends on how mature and trustworthy is. I was a latchkey kid from age 11. I had to immediately call my mother once I was home. I did homework, watched tv, etc.
