Seriously, don't get too worked up. It seems that Gareth Edwards is returning to direct, and since he's currently doing one of the Star Wars spin-offs due in 2016, I would imagine the G-man follow up would arrive in 2018 at the very earliest. 4 years from the release of the first one doesn't feel like too soon in my book.

Pacific Rim 2 please.

Hey, I've got a novel idea. Let's come up with some new ideas for movies! And barring that, at least lets come up with some new intellectual properties!

I couldn't care less about King Kong, but King Ghidorah? That puts me in my happy place.

Space Station Wagon: Pacific Rim 2 please.

And this.

How about a wacky comedy where two musicians witness a mob hit and have to dress like women to hide out? I'm thinking Seth whathisname and that Adam guy that used to be on SNL.

King Kong II.

This sounds like it should have been a poster on Tracy Jordan's dressing room wall on 30 Rock with the tag line "Booty Killed the Beast!"

I jut hope they take some notes from what Peter Jackson did and avoid long-drawn out boring "fight" scenes.

This. The Skull Island segment in his film was pretty damn long and seemed to cover most everything that will probably happen in the new film. Finding creepy natives, fighting giant bugs, dinosaurs, and apes.

Got me thinking.
It has been years.
Theaters used to have cheap matinees and I was a fan.
Now: no cheap matinees
No beer
Crappy snacks
Poor seats
Cell phones

While at home, no such shortfalls and no schedule to follow.
Hhmmm,

I still like the mid-70s version with Jeff Bridges. Jessica Lange, and Charles Grodin.

Didn't they have Kong climb the World Trade Center buildings, because they resembled a pair of mountains from his home island?

My favorite part of that film was the end, where Jessica Lange mysteriously teleports from the top of the WTC to her final scene on the ground next to the fallen Kong.

So basically a $200 million movie with CGI giant apes fighting CGI giant lizards.

I guess some studio suit figured that giant monster movies are popular again: Godzilla and Pacific Rim, both with sequels in the works.

The original '33 film is one of my favorites of all time.

Jackson's Kong was a dynamite 90-minute film squeezed into three hours.

I would love to see a well done modern version.

If the biggest complaint about a director is that he gives too much movie; that's a director I like.
