Tomorrow Never Dies wasn't that bad. I would choose GI Joe as something he should leave out of his resume.

It's good to see someone from DS9 getting some work. Probably the best crew overall but you hardly ever see them anymore. Is Hell on Wheels still on? Chief O'Brien is on that. According to Shatner's documentary "Captains", Avery Brooks is now batshiat insane. He even made Bill uncomfortable. I think I saw Worf guest starring on something.

I know this is sacrilege but I thought TND was worse than DAD. As cheesy as some of the spfx were in the latter, it was a LOT more entertaining.

Pryce was good in Barbarians At The Gate (RIP James Garner) and Glengarry Glen Ross.

Eh, Siddig is rather active in well known films.

Tomorrow Never Dies was almost better than Goldeneye. The last truly good "James Bond" movie (the Craig movies are somber Batman/Bourne movies w/ a catchy title sequence).

When I was a young person, I didn't know what the people were like from the part of the world he's from (Sudan, I think), and I was always wondering why Dr Bashir had a sort of grey skin colour.

Yes, season 4 starts in a few days.

I just saw some ads on AMC for the new season of Hell on Wheels while watching Halt and Catch Fire, so it is still going. I also remember seeing Dorn in Castle recently. Think he was playing the department shrink treating Beckett after she was shot, if I remember correctly.

\Yes, catch Castle from time to time. Fillion really makes the show entertaining as hell for a network mystery/cop show.

Jonathan Pryce has a much more rounded resume than a Bond film. A couple of Tony awards (best known for Miss Saigon) and the creepy Mr. Dark in "Something Wicked This Way Comes".

Tomorrow Never Dies wasn't crappy so much as it was....incredibly bland-a hallmark of the Brosnan era. Michelle Yeoh and Pryce were the best thing about it. The ONLY departure was the surprisingly good Goldeneye(the movie AND the game).

My favorite Jonathan Pryce movie is Brazil.

Well, Goldeneye had Sean Bean.

Hafta agree with subs, Pryce is great but he was just THE. WORST. Bond villain.

Oh come on, both actors have excellent filmographies, some real gem roles.  Liked Pryce since before Brazil even, Ploughman's Lunch, e.g.  Oh cool, just realized it was Siddig who played Feisal to Ralph Fiennes's Lawrence of Arabia.

I have seen him on Starz's Divinci's Demons and he is good on that show.

Yeah, that's where I saw him. I watch Castle too. It's not the usual cop procedural, everyone on the show is cool (except the obnoxious daughter) and Stana Katic is yummy.

I was going to mention that movie, now I don't have to.

Bslim: Hafta agree with subs, Pryce is great but he was just THE. WORST. Bond villain.

Yeah, he was a bit of a spaz and his evil scheme was kind of stupid. A Bond movie is only as good as its villain but I still liked the film overall. I even liked The World is Not Enough, even despite people not shutting up about Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist. She's a Bond girl, ffs. I don't know any computer programmers who look like the girl in GoldenEye either. But I digress.

2014-07-26 02:17:07 PM
I always thought the confrontation at the library between Jason Robards and Jonathan Pryce in Something Wicked This Way Comes was one of the best moments in either of their careers.

I agree.  TnD managed to overcome Pryce's miscasting (an I do believe he was miscast) AND Teri Hatcher's  catastrophic scene. That it survived speaks to just how strong Brosnan and Yeoh played their roles.

Only slightly related to your comment, but... I was always curious as to why, mid-series, he changed his stage name from Siddig El Fadil to Alexander Siddig.

I had the biggest crush on her in Lois and Clark but her in TND was a boner killer. And she was supposedly one of the few girls Bond actually cared about. Not bloody likely.

Meh, she's legal. And she is hot. Until she opens her mouth. Half of her character was agonizing over what Ivy League school to go to and how immature Castle is. I hope they make her a pregnant crack whore. Or at least make her flunk out of school so she has to go to *GASP* State.

Teri Hatcher was extremely hot in the first two seasons of Lois and Clark, then she went all skeletor. TND was post-skeletor.

I think a lot of them have been doing okay.  Auberjonois was a regular on Boston Legal for a few years and has been doing a lot of voice and guest work.  Dorn and Shimerman are the same. Siddig's been doing a lot of British television and had a short run on 24.  Colm Meaney hasn't had trouble finding work, though he's largely fallen into "Hey It's That Guy" status.  Farrell and deBoer both had regular roles on TV series for several years, though Farrell has since retired.  It seems like the only ones other than Farrell to not be steadily working in TV and Film are Brooks and Lofton and Brooks has been doing a lot of theatre and voiceover work.

I think it just goes to show how uncommon it is for television actors to get two big parts, or to transition to movie star status.  Hell, look at the original series cast.  Shatner has had a great career but DeForest Kelley didn't do much of anything but Star Trek movies after the series and the rest became, at best, frequent guest stars.

Television is a super-competitive industry, which is why you'll so often see people clinging to their shows for dear life.  For many of them, it's the one big shot they'll get.

Yeah, I should have been clearer that I was talking about what they did after Star Trek.  But his career is basically just inverted: After a brief flirtation with leading roles, he mostly played guest stars on TV and supporting characters in movies before landing (or being talked into) Star Trek.
