No... they don't mind breaking laws as long as you don't ask or tell them to. Then you can go fark yourself, pal. In fact, don't speak unless spoken to... and keep your hands away from their face.

Boston cabs don't have partitions and you pay your fare at the point of departure... good to know.

Article is fake. I can tell by the headline; I have read a few articles in my time.

Kristy Morgan, 28, and Robert Chamness, 32, both of East Boston, were arraigned in Boston Municipal Court yesterday on charges of unarmed robbery, malicious destruction of property over $250, and assault and battery. Morgan was additionally charged with resisting arrest and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Assistant District Attorney Jessica Erickson requested $2,500 bail for each defendant; Judge Michael Coyne declined to impose monetary bail and released Morgan and Chamness on their own recognizance.

Thanks judge!

John F. Cherry was arraigned in East Boston Municipal Court on a charge of arson of a dwelling. Assistant District Attorney Kaushal Rana requested bail of $5,000. Judge John McDonald imposed $1,000 bail.

Thanks again, judge!

Looks like Boston is the place to be a criminal, especially if you don't mind skipping bail.

Hell, I wonder why the woman isn't facing a lot more in the way of charges - FTA: "As police placed both Chamness and Morgan under arrest, Morgan kicked and elbowed officers, causing both Morgan and the officers to fall to the ground, prosecutors said. "

That would be 'assaulting a police officer' wouldn't it?

Resisting arrest covers it, i think.

I bet her heels were the "dangerous weapon" added on to the assault and battery.

How the fark do you get ROR after violently beating someone and robbing them?

They were lucky they didn't have a gram of some illegal drug, then they'd really have been in trouble!

I'm going to go with "the ground".

A legit question, not pushing any agenda. Maybe one of you Farkers is aware of research on this.

It being East Boston I figured the perps were probably white and I scrolled back up in tfa to where they were described. And it actually doesn't say.

And I wondered: how many times, broken down by color/ethnicity, does a newspaper leave color/ethnicity out of the description? I feel like I've rarely seen articles about minority perps where it wasn't included. But I have no sense of whether that's more or less true for white perps.

Depends on the news publication.  As I understand it some are rather the opposite way - if the perps are minority it's not mentioned, so you can tell it's a minority when they don't specify that they were white.

Look there are guys you can beat up and rob and there's guys you can't. Now that's not exactly a guy you can't beat up and rob but he's almost a guy you can't beat up and rob.

As a general rule, if there is no mention of race, it means the perp is white. If they had been black, the story would have made that clear.

As a Boston-area resident, this article made me laugh almost as hard as the woman in Waltham who succeeded in running over herself with her own car.

Rules for driving are a bit different here.... and yes, breaking them is one of the rules.

A song from my buddy Mike Barrett...

Boston Cab (sung to the tune of Country Roads)
by Mike Barrett
1.
Not quite human, Boston cabbie
He don't speak English, his driving's kinda shabby
I'm in the back seat feelin' kind of gross
Cause the driver in the front seat
Farts and picks his nose

Chorus
Boston cab, what's the deal?
Who put you, behind the wheel?
Learn the language
Learn to drive
Take a shower try to get me home alive

Bridge
I see his face on the permit right in front of me
He looks just like a terrorist who just escaped from jail
I tell him where I'm going
But he don't understand just turns and stares at me
And I say gee...

Chorus again
2.

I try to tell him I'm going to Mission Hill
He takes me to the airport, then through Somerville
He says something, I don't know what it is
But he's acting pretty angry, I think he wants a tip
I say forget it, I say here tip on this
I ain't getting' farked, if I ain't getting kissed.

Uh racial descriptions are for when you don't know who the assailant is. Notice they didn't need to point out their genders, either.

They look like an intelligent pair. Pretty much what I pictured from the description of the incident. But then again, I'm from the Boston area and see idiots like these two all the time on the news.
