Hugging is the precursor to strangling.

Until the university retroactively patents the technology.

Or some shell corporation appears out of the blue to enforce a patent on 'artificial flesh toned ligaments'

Most insurance companies won't pay for these prosthetics because they need to be replaced as the child grows because they are a business, and their business is taking your cash, and looking for any excuse not to pay out to you. Even if it's a child with one arm..

/I wish i knew the name of their insurance carrier. What a bunch of assholes.

"The $350 Man" sounds like a TV show destined for basic cable.

Who would want a 6 year old prosthetic? Aren't those usually made to fit?

Dammit, what's the use of having a son with a bionic arm if you can't have him lift your car?

Did you not see in the video where he threw the frisbee-looking thing? It could probably hold various smallish things no problem.

Lord Farkwad: Insurance companies and medical supply companies are the biggest scammers next to Wall Street bankers.

What if I told you there was a single organization that makes back-room deals with and helps funnel money to all three of those industries while working to legitimize what they do and destroy any threats to them? Would that organization not be the worst of them all?

So buy a multi-thousand dollar printer or pay multi-thousands to get someone to build one when you don't have someone willing to do it at cost for publicity.

I'd rather have a peg leg or a hook.

Hate to be a downer, but really a child's prosthetic needs to look more natural. Also the article states most insurance companies won't cover children such as this because they won't make money off of it. That in a nutshell is one the major reasons I've come to strongly dislike right wingers. How hateful do you have to be to see a kid like that as an opportunity for you to profit, and if you can't profit then just tell him toughshiat, welcome to America the richest country in the world. Maybe they could strap an f35 to this stub, at least that way those not flying useless shots boxes wouldn't be total waste of 1.5 trillion dollars.

MacgyverJr: Who would want a 6 year old prosthetic? Aren't those usually made to fit?

That's a business model. Get some crowdsource funding and turn it into an ongoing non-profit. Pay everyone involved a livable wage and see how long you can keep it going.

Why all the hate against insurance companies? Insurance is a contract not a giveaway. You contract for protection in the event of loss. They are betting you will have less injuries than they need to pay out for, and you're betting the same, but have the assurance that if something happens you'll have coverage. Depending on your means and wishes, you can contract for what you like.

This is what you Obamacare proponents don't understand. You think insurance is an endless well. It's not. By your reasoning food should be free to everyone.
