$100 to zip line in a developing country? Seems pricey. It was only $25 to do a really long zip line course in a mountainous rain forest in Ecuador. Though you do have to keep in mind that it was the only zip line company in operation in Mindo because the other one killed a tourist a few months earlier when a cable snapped. but that just adds to the excitement.

the US doctors were incredulous that I survived a complete testicular torsion and associated septicemia/gangrene for nearly two weeks.

Sounds like he had a ball on that trip!

I still have a ball on all my trips . . . just one though :(

Another thing, car rental insurance in Mexico doesn't cover dick.

I bottomed out a Dollar.mx Jetta on a rock (unfortunately) just north of Cabo on Rt. 1 and punched a tiny hole in the transmission case.

First of all, Mexican registered cars don't have all that safety and protection stuff that US cars have ie some bottom protection. Secondly, Napoleonic law rules the day in Mexico ie. they arrest erry motherfarker involved in any sort of accident down south until they figure out who's at fault and should pay. Needless to say, they aren't in a hurry to do that. C. The insurance you purchase for a car rental down there doesn't actually cover anything should you come to grief. Thank God I had AMEX in my corner and told those mf'ers to eat a dick when they tried to run CC for 10 large to cover the damages of some JB Weld and fluid in the crank case.

Russ1642: So they read some ads claiming it was safe and that's all they've got? It's a zipline. It's inherently dangerous, and it's in Mexico. You're better off having unprotected sex with the hookers that hang around the hotel bar.

OH THANK GOD! Because, let me tell you, I have been sweating bullets since my little tryst last month during the corporate retreat.

But you sound like an authority on the matter and if you say it's safe, I'm set. In fact, I can't wait to go back and see Esmeralda!!

the ad said it was "the safest" which is a relative comparison.  Considering it's in Mexico, I can only imagine how terrible the others are.

/I'll just stick to Mexican Radio.

Good thing Mexico provides universal coverage for anyone in need. They will be fine, what is the problem?

From the comments: "Mexico is run by crime syndicates. That's the reason for this."

So the drug lords now control the wind. Good to know.
