The GOP must have secretly figured out how to clone white male voters, because they sure are acting like that's all the votes they'll ever need.

That's the essence of compromise in Congress nowadays.

Oh, the feet are long gone.
Up to the hips now. Should not be long.
I would list the GOP as "endangered species".
So, lets just drive the government around them.

It would appear that the 1% has abandoned the GOP.
Perhaps once upon a time, 1% cared and supported a "party".
But, I think they have found it is just a lot cheaper to sit back and acquire the elected stooge after the fact.
At least, I hope they are that bright.

Well, if they don't give him too little money to do the job, how will they be able to criticize him for not doing a good job later? Fecklessness doesn't just happen, you know.

Look, it is simple.  If they gave Homeland Security the funding they needed to secure the borders and to be able to cope with the humanitarian crisis, then they wouldn't be able to blame Obama for the border crisis, because it wouldn't exist.

the part i don't get on this- and i've heard it from every source- is why the adminstration is at fault here... the way i understand it, congress passed a law that any children from non-contiguous states (basically not mexico) that arrived here without parents would receive a hearing and screening to determine if they are the victims of human trafficing. it seems like it was a well intentioned law that has led to the (at the time unforseen) consequence that many children are now coming here because they know they have a reasonable chance of claiming asylum, or at least not summary deportation due to this law. So it seems to me that congress needs to either A. vote more money so the administration can enforce the law properly or B. change the law so the administration doesn't have to jump through as many hoops. but i don't see how at this point the administration can enforce the law as it stands without congressional funding... am i missing something?

Repeat that in your head over and over again.

and next week, they'll approve expenditures of tens of millions a month to pay outside counsel to sue the executive branch for (supposedly) not properly implementing a law that they have tried 50+ times to repeal.

But different enough, we could use a new name.

Suggestions?

No that is basically exactly it.

I can help you here.  Your points are sound and cogent and that is why you don't understand the GOP narrative.  Obama has been asking form comprehensive immigration reform which the GOP,  although they have no intention of even attempting to pass, have been yelling at the top of their lungs constitutes amnesty.

The brown people heard these vocal proclamations of amnesty (prompted by Obama indirectly and not applicable even on a theoretical basis) and that caused the Honduran kids to flee being murdered and raped.  Ergo and such as, it is Obama's fault.

And they may very well do that

FTA: Granger said members appeared to be coalescing around changes to a 2008 human trafficking law so that uniform rules could be applied to child migrants, as well as adding more immigration judges to help speed the processing of those children.

I think you guys have the shooting order wrong. Follow along with me as I "reconstruct" the order of the crime.

They shot themselves in the  head first; this explains how their strong anti-intellectual and anti-science bent became their primary strategy.

Only after that did they start shooting themselves in the feet, and probably the hands after that given their incapacity to do much of anything.

Without the hands or feet, the only conclusion remaining must be the right one. I figure they're just going to work up the extremities and down the torso until just the dick and asshole are left, because it's the dick pulling the trigger. The asshole will be the last (or technically, next-to-last) part to go.

The GOP's dick will literally be the last part left standing.

It really has gone up as a percentage, but the total increase doesn't seem to be that large.

If Obama personally drove down there on his own dime, not using a single tax dollar, and offered to drive the kids back to their home countries, he'd be decried as an inhuman monster who turns away children and avoids his job.

Believe it or not, I very rarely get political on Facebook. But I'm sick and farking tired of my friends who start every day with a picture thanking Jesus for another morning and then ten minutes later they're biatching about their tax dollars helping foreigners. And I said so. We'll see if there's any response, good or bad.

It's really only going to get worse. Climate gon' change. Food gon' get scarce. Water gon' dry up. And where they gonna end up? They're going to come here. You think they're gonna starve quietly at home? nyooooope. We're gonna need a better solution than Rick Perry and his "I'm not a complete idiot" glasses standing at the border and scowling.

No the brown people heard, and saw Obama proclaim most illegal immigrants off limits for deportation and many of them decided it was time to send for their kids. Over half of these children who are placed with relatives in the U.S. are placed with a parent.
