No they don't.
They use surveillance tapes and recordings from wires that these mooks wear.

FTFA: According to charging papers filed in U.S. District Court, Smith's companion told investigators Smith planned to hand the PCP he bought from "Thumper" to investigators. The FBI agent noted Smith had been warned against committing crimes outside the direction of his handlers.

In other words, he was instructed to only commit crimes FOR the FBI. Nice system we've got, here.

You are aware how stings happen regardless of the crime, right?  Drug dealer, prostitutes, Wall Street insider trading, terrorists and political corruption have stings all the time.  Go learn mens rea  and actus rea and then write a report about why stings aren't crimes.  Then go learn about strict liability.  You should the fully understand how stings aren't criminal.

Actually, they do put people in jail based on the testimony of these mooks. Without any recording tech or video.

I never understood why cops think its okay to employ the very people they arrest. Some kind of "greater good" rationale I'm sure, but, if you're willing to snitch, you're probably willing to make up a bunch of shiat too.
