CapeFearCadaver: Note to self: Do not die
Leopold Stotch: They're already dead. How could it get worse? I guess this qualifies.
SueDisco: OMG my friend was a juror on this woman's case. There is a very, very disturbing detail that this story left out regarding the rat that attacked her. This woman checked out out a new body that had arrived in the morgue and saw a tampon string. Since bodies are supposed to have all foreign objects removed prior to arrival in the morgue she saw this as a mistake up the chain and removed said tampon. Except it wasn't a tampon...it was the tail of a LIVE RAT. And THAT, my friends, is the rat that attacked her. It latched onto her hand. And that is why she is suffering from the most legit case of PTSD that I've ever heard.
ukexpat: I dunno, could be a good way of disposing of a corpse, but then you have piles of rat crap to deal with.

Cold_Sassy: WTF kind of shiathole hospital IS that? Any farkers ever been there or know anything about it? I can't believe that the state would allow it to stay open. Damn./Does Dr. Nick work there?
balisane: Okay. Her judgment was not nearly enough. That's some American Psycho shiat right there.

Labrat407: Here I thought this was either a Tea Party anti-immigration story, one from the RNC/sitting Congressmen, or a GOP anti-women story.
The Irresponsible Captain: Sorry, I thought I was living in a first-world country.
HairBolus: FTFA: "For two years from 2007, Kennard worked for a contractor who ran the hospital morgue. It's a bid she won herself in 2009.But she claims that opportunity was far from a perk. Because of the infestation, she could never find employees, so she worked alone many times."One person to run the morgue? An external contractor so the hospital is not responsible? From googling I find that Providence is "non-profit". That word often has a different meaning when applied to hospitals as opposed to other organizations. With hospitals it may mean that the hospital is setup to maximize the salaries paid to MDs and skimp on pay for the lesser people - nurses, morgue workers, etc.
