"From our perspective we have to apply the same type of approach that we did to terrorism to the national security cyber threat.

So, how long before we have to take off our shoes and undergo a full body scan before being allowed to use the internet?

Does Al-Qaeda want us to do to them what Sherman did to Atlanta?  Really?  They want that?

Torn on this. If it means my revolving credit card debt or my kids' college loans evaporate, I'm in favor of it. But I must say, I can't take the threat of a cyber attack from al Qaeda too seriously because, after all, they're Arabs, and hence utterly incompetent at everything they attempt. The worst that could happen would be a bump in hummus futures.

That's because they were up against the Bush administration, which brought incompetence to a new level. Do you think President McCain or President Gore would have ignored a paper entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the US"? I think a cursory examination of flight school records would have quickly uncovered the various Arab students interested in learning to fly a plane, but not to land one. 9/11 was an American failure, not an Arab success.

I don't know about you, but I always take off my shoes before going on the internet. It's difficult for me to take my pants off while wearing shoes, after all.

Some of the greatest successes in history were because of other people's failures. Lee mainly destroyed his own army at Gettysburg. It's still a Union victory.

I thought they had only hijacked the planes to get some real world flying practice. It was about time after all those lessons. Then one accidentally hit, and the other was going close to see if they could help, and, well, you know the rest.

If they attacked our porn supply (porn depot?) I think we may finally turn the Middle East into that glass parking lot that's been discussed on Fark.
