Meanwhile, the Russian Billionaires Club is getting upset with Putin and is starting to question Putin's sanity.  This could get very interesting.

It's odd that nobody seems to realize this. Putin is running the show for now, but his days are numbered. The danger all despots and dictators fall victim to is when they start believing their own propaganda.

I'm sure Obama is prepared to break away from fund raising to give a scathing 40 second comment anytime now.  Maybe a whole minute giving this is an act of war and all.

We did just ban more imports from russia and levied sanctions against their energy industries through an executive order. So that's something. I don't know how harsh Obama can act unilaterally, though. I'm not certain how many sanctions have been applied internationally, either.

Yep.  The weirder part, is that I listened to Hannity's radio show yesterday, and Mitt was on as a guest.  He sounded almost entirely reasonable and articulate about everything he spoke about.

I usually just put the show on to listen to the hateful vitriol spewed constantly, because it helps me understand how Republican views actually manifest.  It was a weird feeling to hear that segment.

I don't even care anymore....not right now anyway.  I don't think Putin cares either.  He's untouchable.  What are we going to do?  Invade Russia?  Send ground troops into Ukraine?  Hell no.  We're not going to do that and Putin knows this.  We're already carefully rationing sanctions because that's all we can do and we do so to our own economic detriment - more so Europe than the US.

Even if we can harm Russia with economic sanctions, do you think Putin is going to feel it?  Fark no.  He's got everything he wants and he will continue to have everything he wants no matter what we do.

This is why I support CIA assassinations.  He needs to be killed.

Some 'human intelligence' no less.  Didn't we have that in Iraq on WMD?  Some Ukranian dude told a guy who told a guy that he's pretty sure the shells came from across the border.  Trust us.  If we are so curious wouldn't satellite images be able to see artillery firing?  I mean that has to be way more obvious than some unmarked van in Iraq being called a mobile WMD lab.

Fixed that for you.

But let's compare notes in five years. If it turns out to have been correct, I'll grant him that point. From today's point of view, Russia's been dominating the international news pages for the last two weeks, yeah, but that's a little different than being America's primary geopolitical foe. We need a longer perspective before claiming justifiably that Romney called it.

Back then United states didn't give a crap about war; for good reason - If I remember correctly even when the Germans attacked Poland; the U.S. Public voted over 80% to stay out of the conflict; Hell the president at the time couldn't even raise money for military spending because the people would of voted against it; however he got pot luck when Pearl Harbor was bombed, many favored war and thus is when we became MERICA!! FARK YEAH!

Fark Obama, Fark Putin; let them screw each other in a warm bath with bubbles.

Say, Callous?   You mind telling me where you got that from?

The reason I ask that is I heard two "conservatives" at work today repeat that nearly word for word.  From past experience they only get their information from talk radio and Fox.  Just curious who is pushing this particular talking point.

um, I guess you missed the part about a legitimate news site, and instead linked to the same site as the OP.  I just checked all my boston tv station sites, and lone nh tv station, not a single one had anything at all near the front page area of this.  Subby made it sound like a Russian Army division was encamped on the border and lobbing artillery in WWII style.  Now that would be something to be concerned about.  At best, it looks like a rehash of rocket launchers being supplied to rebels, same as it has been for nearly a year now.  Now, are all boston tv stations to be trusted?  eh, about as far as I can throw them but seriously this isn't a land invasion prelude like the blitzkrieg was.  Is it a good thing?  No, of course not.  Is there really a damn thing we can do about it.  Highly debatable.
