I could never convict anybody of aiding al-Shabab because every time I hear the name my brain summons Cyndi Lauper singing "She Bop."

Too bad we don't live in a country where genital mutilation is legal and enforced by sharia law.

Should have just run guns to the IRA like the rest of the Irish in Boston.

The last time I was in Reston I got drunk with the sales team at the McCormick and Schmick's and I had to sleep it off in a parking garage in the back of my rental car.  On the plus side, the rental agency had given me a Toyota Sienna which was a perfect vehicle for that purpose.

The single greatest victory in the war on terror was the financial damage done to Al Queda.

No,  our genital mutilation is made legal by Judeo-Christian law.

Reston is full of corporate offices, expense accounts, and bars. So it's sleepy in the sense that you need to sleep your hangover off.

I'm going to reserve judgement on this. The FBI probably set these women up just like they have set up every "terrorist" that they have "prevented" form committing a terrorist act.

On a side note, Reston, Va was one of those whacky urban experimental communties that planners in the 1970's were so found of.   This is the local elementary school, and yes Recess IS held on the roof:

and inside ieven weirder with "learning pods rather than classrooms  and can you just feel the 70's architecture emanating from this shot of the old town center?

I was going to say, Reston was a "sleepy, 60s era planned community" 50 years ago. Today it's a crowded exurban metropolis.

The Metro is coming to Reston on Saturday, so it's got that going for it.

Well, you can only support al Shabaab in one window of your home with a sign smaller than 120 square inches that contains no more than 2 primary colors.  Duh.

I really am looking forward to getting on Metro at Ballston, skipping the rush hour traffic, hitting RTC for a couple hours, and riding home.  Cheaper than a cab, less driving involved. Win-win.

I was back in Tysons for the first time in almost ten years over the 4th holiday weekend and seeing the metro track was a serious trip.  It was like bad special effects in a sci-fi movie where they try to make a cityscape look all futuristic.

I hope they were wearing earth tones while doing their terrorist financing.
