Women hate it when you call it that.

I can see it now: blue states refuse to set up State Exchanges and then the Feds set them up for them. Soon after, there's a lawsuit trying to block the subsidies because of poor wording in the legislation.

The whole thing would be a jerb-killing abomination. Except substitute "people" for "jerb".

Armed socialism?

2014-07-23 02:11:03 PM
Actually, I've been an advocate of this for many years. In the words of Heinlein "An armed society is a polite society"
You should have to have a permit not to carry a weapon.

Without arms, you couldn't shake hands, which is rather rude.

Though I suppose you could bow.

The GOP's concern for the poor begins and ends with their access to guns.

2014-07-23 02:31:08 PM
Oh sure, if you want to feed, house or educate poor people you're a pinko commie liberal but hey, let's help them get guns!  That's not going to backfire in any way.

Armed socialism is polite socialism!  Or something like that.

/Obamagun!!!

Trust me... with the bullsh*t deluge constantly pouring forth from the Right these days, you do NOT want me to own a gun

To be fair, they also care quite a bit about poor fetuses.

Not so sure about subsidizing the purchases but the firearms classes are a great idea.

Well, 66th most polite country.

Shooting instruction is a bad idea but it might be a good idea to have people give talks to elementary school kids on how dangerous guns are and they should never be touched and if you find one, never touch it, get a grow-up, etc.

2014-07-23 02:57:17 PM
The more you feel you need a gun, the less able you are to deal with society.

2014-07-23 03:00:20 PM
This is no surprise. The NRA is just an arm of the weapons business. They are advocating for more sales.

So now you are for FORCING kids to learn something whether they want to or not.

Dusk-You-n-Me: The GOP's concern for the poor begins and ends with their access to guns.

Well, it could lead to some fun down the road.

1. Insult the poor at every opportunity
2. Do your damndest to prevent them from having access to food stamps, affordable housing, and health care
3. Give them all a bunch of guns

It seems as if they haven't thought their cunning plan all the way through.

Well, they'll definitely have access to food, housing, and some health care after step #3.

So you agree they should be mandated before anyone gets a firearms license? Because the NRA starts kicking their feet on the floor and crying if you suggest that.

So the GOP takes away their soap box and ballot box, but gives them a free ammo box.

BRILLIANT!

You know, we could let the NRA be the judge of who is mentally sound enough to be granted a permit, they just have to be held liable when the inevitable happens.

Oh yeah, I'd subsidize her ammo if you know what I mean, and I think... wait, I don't even know what that means.

I guess I am saying I would like to disappoint her with my penis. Which isn't funny so much as sad. You know what? Just forget it.

Wait...wait.  Does this include subsidizing the....."urban" poors, too?  Could get entertaining when Cletus and Jethro realize that's happening.

That's weird, NRA supporters have been saying such claims about their beloved group were just made up lies spawned from the depths of liberalism.

The 3rd Amendment never gets any respect.

Today's kids are going to grow up not knowing that the King of England isn't allowed to quarter redcoats in their house.

2014-07-23 03:27:55 PM
Poor people with guns is how we get  the statistics totalitarians love to quote when advocating for "gun safety."

But in all honestly, the NRA is NOT an advocate for U.S. citizens who want to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. It is a tool of arms manufactures and only exists to get them as much money as it possibly can.

Anyone who wants a gun should be shot first. That way, they'll know what kind of damage they'll do if they shoot somebody with it.

2014-07-23 03:28:42 PM
Why exactly do people think that firearms training prevents gun violence and gun accidents?  Why don't people apply the same logic to guns as to sex? Want to know how not to have an accident with a gun? Don't pick one up.  I suppose I agree that if someone's going to own a gun they should know how  to use it but now we're in the business of instructing people on how to use their purchases? Can we send someone to my mom's house to talk her through programming her cable box?

Nabb1: Shooting instruction is a bad idea but it might be a good idea to have people give talks to elementary school kids on how dangerous guns are and they should never be touched and if you find one, never touch it, get a grow-up, etc.

This guy clearly hasn't thought this through.  If we followed through with this we'd have to subsidize more welfare queens and thugs and arming all of them will mean that good God fearing conservatives like him will have to avoid even more neighborhoods.

How else are the poor going to defend themselves during the Purge?

I have no problem whatsoever with mandatory gun training. Gun subsidies though jesus christ come on
