He was also ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and made subject to a restraining order - forbidding him from contacting or going near the girl.

Oh good. Because creepy psycho stalkers are ALL about obeying restraining orders.

/girl's body discovered in 3... 2... 1...

"She didn't believe him but the next morning she returned to her room and was sitting on her bed on the phone to a friend when she sensed someone was watching her."

What? He was sitting on her phone, which was on her bed?

I'm watching you.

P.S. - Stop farting and fluffing the covers, I can't breath. kthxbye

Walker: Zero jail time. Gotta love it.

This line didn't make sense.  Did she jail him or not?  Does jail and/or "behind bars" mean something else in the UK?

Yet she did not jail Ravenscroft, sentencing him to 12 weeks behind bars, suspended for two years, a supervision order and ordered to pay £100 ($291) compensation to his victim after pleading guilty to stalking.

Suspended means it isn't carried out, so he hasn't been jailed. The twelve week sentence will be carried out if he does anything else in the next two years.

/Seems very soft.

It does seem soft, but this guy needs help more than he needs jail.  He's clearly mentally ill.  Sending him to jail isn't going to improve that situation.  Granted, TFA didn't say anything about mandatory psychiatric care.  But that would be the appropriate consequence here.

Yep, texting someone you'll hang yourself outside their bedroom window so you'll discover the body may just be screaming for a psyc eval.

I'm willing to bet this guy is behind bars before the year is out for violating the no-contact order.

$291??  wtf?  If that was my kid, we would be going to the shooting range for practice the next day!  I am not even a "gun person" but I would be waiting for that kid with more than one loaded gun.

This was in England.  They don't do personal gun ownership there.

Central Pennsylvania, I think a platform. Don't recall feeling springs.

That will come as news to my father in law in Lincolnshire with his legally owned shotguns, rifles, antique pistols, crossbows and air pistols.

They also tend to frown on using firearms in self defense... even pretty straightforward cases.

I'd much rather confront a nervous nellie with a hand gun than one with a shotgun. Hard to miss with a shotgun.

Here's a situation where a bit of Texas justice would have been perfect.  Yes, I am advocating the use of lethal force on this piece-o-shiat.

I real crazy person would wear a clown suit while stalking someone under their bed.

Do they even give people substantial jail time in Britain nowadays? Who does the sentencing there, the Warden from Superjail?!

Wait, I'm this late to the show and I'm the first one to mention the photo/caption?

Scared, frightened .. The 16-year-old girl (not pictured) found the stalker under her bed.

Um.... Here's a photo including a girl, a bed, the concept of under and a texting device.

Meh. I'd have called his bluff. Creepy stalker problem eliminated.

That, or start asking for body parts.
"Prove you love me. Mail me your left great toe, with a picture of the stump..."

It is natural for humans to kill, fall in love etc. but if someone broke into your house while you were sleeping and cleaned your entire house for you that would be cause for the Baker Act.

He broke into her home, slept under her bed, and stole her phone.
Trespass + theft = burglary.

Burglary of occupied habitation = 25 years minimum to life.

Aussies are soft on crime.

why would anyone burglarize a domicile that is uninhabited?

However, with a name like Kyle Ravencroft, it was always pretty likely he was going to be a stalker.

Meat and potatoes 8-11 minutes.
Sure, it is better than a handgun, but hard to miss? Hardly...
