Climb every mountain
ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
to find your complimentary review headphones and two pages of yammering text so inane that had me yearning for death's sweet release

I hate earbuds for all the reasons listed in TFA. Solution: headphones. This ain't rocket surgery. They fit in my gym bag or coat pocket or briefcase and work just fine.

I wish I had so few things to worry about in my life that I could take the time to obsess over The Quest For The Perfect Earbud.

I just get these shiatty $15 JVC ones, and they work just fine for me...except that they collect crap in the holes and you can only clean those things so many times...

/would also use headphones if I didn't think I'd look like a tool
//I mean, more so than usual

The regular earbuds that come standard with the iPod or iPhone work just fine. Honestly, how long each day are you wearing these things?

I see people everywhere that live with earbuds in.  I think they're so terrified of being alone with their thoughts that they have to drown them out with music.

It's a good thing you understood what "first-world problems" was before you came to this thread.

My coworker paid to have some fitted to his ears. He's a big audiophile. No idea how much or who or what.

Good luck subs, that tiny violin sound you hear is because you have your bass turned up too high.

Oddly enough, I did.

Even for First World Problems, this is weak sauce.

If you run, get the ones Sony makes for about 15 bucks that hang around your ear with a soft rubber piece that goes in the ear, problem resolved.

be careful, hearing loss is permanent

/spent last weekend with my parents, and had to repeat myself an awful lot, those concerts back in the 60's must have been awesome.

Paid $8 (or maybe $10) bucks for a cheap set of polaroid brand earbuds with a microphone at Walgreen's. They work fine for me.

/I tend to break teh cords super easily so don't want to get anything fancy.

45 years old, mild-to-moderate tinnitus. Probably from half a dozen years of playing drums in high school and college before anybody thought about hearing protection. Hearing loss ain't just for old people, and walkman/ipod-related hearing loss is going to be a huge issue in the coming years.

Etymotic has a process for getting custom ear molds for their earphones and headsets.

I'm considering getting them for my hf3s. I've got some funky ear canals.
