They leave the West behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
That Georgia's always on m-m-my mind

The Beatles were right...

Wolf892: It's a scam, sure they sing pretty at first, then when you are hooked by their sweet sounds they tell you that their grandmother is very sick but they don't have money to take her to the hospital... So then you man up because you feel like since they're singing for you now you are responsible for them... So you send them money and then more and more until one day they stop singing for you and you travel to Russia to find out that they are in fact two dudes running a money scam...

cool story, bro.

They're singing about how much they want an American husband.  The chorus is actually just the name of the website over and over again.

Wow. Such singing. Much harmony.

That song sounds like the Russian equivalent of "My name is Yon Yohnson, I come from Visconson, vhen people I met then I say... My name is Yon Yohnson, I come from Visconson, vhen people I met then I say... "

I can live without hearing the song.

I honestly didn't know Russia could produce pretty things. At least not since the Bolshevik Revolution.

Before that I suppose they produced some fancy eggs and that Tchaikovsky guy. Those things are pretty.

So from my faulty logic, I'm just going to assume this is a folk song that predates 1917.

And what comes next, hey, bust a move

Young girls perform Russian folk songs

History of the ensemble.
In 2011 Yatsenko Daria organized its ensemble on final year Norilsk arts college. It was the first student ensemble at the college. About the name wonder. When applying for tenders required name of the group. Wanted to come up with something original. Settled on the name "white gold." We all northern girls, so - White. Received the diploma "Golden Voices of Norilsk," so - gold. And teams with name no more. :)
"White Gold of" sounds nice, proud, gentle and displays all the girls and the band in general.

Norilsk is in northern Siberia - prime activities are mining and smelting ore and they used to use GULAG labor for that. By "white" I guess they mean little sun exposure. They probably want to get the hell out of Norilsk because it is a really "dead" place in several senses -  "The Blacksmith Institute[12] included Norilsk in its 2007 list of the ten most polluted places on Earth."

Oh, to be young, beautiful and have something to sing about...

♫ "Once upon a time, there was a tavern...
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours,
Think of all the great things we would do
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di
Then, the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If, by chance, I'd see you in the tavern,
We'd smile at one another and we'd say
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di
Just tonight, I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass, I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me?
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di
Through the door, there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts, the dreams are still the same
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di

I was referring to the song, not the girls. But they're not too bad, either.

Here it most every farking Thursday night at 40+ soccer.  some bloke started a "fat boy" league and after their game, they get together and sing this after drinking a beer or two.  It's annoying as shiat to be playing and have a group of guys singing this crap behind the net.....

The girls in  "Белое злато" (White Gold) are not exceptionally pretty, though as comments in this thread suggest they are pretty enough for imagined prostitutes or porn.

Arachnophobe: Well, as long as we're linking pretty Russian girls singing... Юлия Савичева - Если в сердце живет любовь

Gack. Yulia Savicheva's song translates as "If love lives in your heart" and unless you can recognize the words the music is just bland international pop of the sort Britney Spears might sing if she hadn't burned out.

White Gold (Белое злато) is musically interesting in that they sing melodies/chord-progressions that sound primitive and outside of international pop. Some googling suggests that right-wing Russian nationalists are promoting them but I think these girls just want a life away from Northern Siberia.

You're right, I see at least 5 hotties who can sing... :-)

Just for the record, I think nationalism and religion are the two biggest hindrances to human progress. Things would be much different if we had a setup where developing civilizations weren't separated by major geographical barriers. I really try not to actually judge people based on where they're from, although I might joke about it.
