AV Club thinks it'll be his dad which is much more likely. The clue given out was it was done by a Emmy winner for the show which Mason received for playing him. Most people would be upset over losing a parent as well explaining the title.

September 28th will be a major day in Simpson's history, as the series will be featured in a crossover episode with fellow Fox series Family Guy.

Why?

I remember the good old days when they made a superior episode like the crossover with the Critic, and were ashamed and appalled to stoop so low.

Fox needs to really step it up, how about a crossover with 24.

So that Family Guy can make fun of the Simpsons for not being funny for the past 10-15 years and the Simpsons can make fun of Family Guy for not being funny ever.

That was great, too, because at the end Jay said "Maybe you could come and visit MY show?!"
And Bart says something like "Yeah, that's not going to happen!"

There's also going to be a Futurama crossover.  I'm somewhat curious to see that.

So what will they come up with now to fill the episode slot where they usually do a "Simpsons have to help Krusty save his TV show from being canceled" every season?

fusillade762: In other news: I just found out they offed Fat Tony?!? I guess that's what I get for not watching the show in years.

They went with a "comic book" plot line with that one

"Fat Tony dies in the twenty-second season episode , only to be replaced by his slimmer cousin "Fit Tony". By the end of that episode, Fit Tony's weight gain causes a change of nickname to "Fit Fat Tony" and eventually "Fat Tony", essentially restoring the original character.  "

They will add one more "Homer gets a new job" episode.

For the first time in 20 years, there is no syndicated Simpsons on our local station.  I believe someone bought the exclusive rights for syndication.

Marge and Homer on the rocks again? With perhaps more of Apu's failed marriage? And a random celebrity shows up?
