Well I'm just glad that news site showed us a picture of an example of what a 16ft long green snake might look like. Just so people don't confuse them with the hundreds of 15ft snakes that might well be swimming around.

Don't make fun of them for using a stock photo.  In fact, I thought they should have put the stock photo of that species of snake up top and the Facebook photo of the expert below.  Motivation for clicking on the article could vary from person to person; but I clicked through because I wanted to contemplate big-ass snakes, not stoner-looking dudes.

By the middle of fall, or perhaps even earlier, the snake will fall into a temperature induced torpor, and it will freeze to death if not caught.  It's a species that is used to tropical waters.
