(The Raw Story)   In this week's episode of "Impending Visit by the Secret Service," we consider a think tank analyst who informs a sympathetic audience that drawing and quartering President Obama would be "too good for him"   (rawstory.com) divider line 134

*sigh*

Subby, it's a reference to art. Since the Renaissance, artists have "drawn and quartered" their subjects; namely, painted them on a canvas, then divided that canvas into equally sized quarters and sold the painting as four separate works of art. Some of the most famous portraits in the world were actually originally group paintings from which only one of the original four subjects really became famous. This is a perfect example of where a little education on your part would have spared you looking quite ridiculous online.

I'd bet every president has had countless death threats issued against them. They just usually aren't issued in public by prominent Washington insiders like this guy.

Oh my god. There's a farking Wikipedia article about threats on Obama's life. How sad is that?

That page led me to this article where the Secret Service director said in December 2009 that the volume of threats was comparable. Should probably stop using that statistic unless there's updated comments available.

They used to hang people as an "anesthetic" prior to drawing and quartering so they wouldn't feel the pain. Anglo Saxon compassion or something.

Seriously, he is quite the Monster.

I suspect the difference isn't the number of threats, but, rather, how comfortable people aren't nobodies in rural Mississippi at their backyard BBQ feel about making them (or publishing them).

Remember the early days of the G.W. Bush administration when the GOP loudly proclaimed "Don't you criticize MY president" when people simply questioned his decision to go to war.

Yet the GOP has lowered themselves to the point that today it's hard to imagine a more degrading, humiliating attack on a sitting American president. They have publicly called him every imaginable slander.  The GOP has become a collective of disgraceful, deranged malcontents.  They are an international embarrassment.

Well then shiat or get off the pot. If he's as bad as they claim, and it's imperative that he be stopped ASAP, then please bring forth the impeachment proceedings. Otherwise, STFU.

Just to be clear here...

I recently finished a book on the history of execution. Hanging in the Middle Ages(And up until the late 1800's), hanging wasn't a science. There wasn't an optimum drop height, no body worried about where the knot was, stuff like that. As a result, hanging was a slow strangulation, taking close to half an hour to finally kill the condemned. Friends and family would sometimes rush to the gallows, grab the legs, and hold on in an effort to hasten death...

Anyway, when drawn and quartered, they would cut you up, emasculate you, and disembowel you while you were still alive.

So think on that, Obama haters. Do you REALLY despise the man that badly? I can't think of anyone in a long time that would deserve that, and definitely not a single politician in this country's history, definitely not one of our Presidents.

In defense of the racist nutbags who have been constantly losing their shiat over Obama for the last six years, it's not because of their racism. I mean, they're racist, but they'd be losing their shiat anyway. Just like they'll lose it over Hillary, and not because they hate women... although they do. But not because of it.

Hell, Bill Clinton was as white and male and redneck as it's possible to get. He could go undercover at any Klan meeting or Tea Party rally and blend right in. And they lost their shiat over him for eight straight years too. It's nothing personal, Democrats.

In fact, it's not even a Democrat thing. If there's no scary black guy with a D after his name to feel victimized by, they'll declare the nearest Republican a RINO traitor and lose their shiat over him. I guess that's what does it for them.
