If their supplier repackages and relabels old meat, how are they supposed to know?

/I also like that the Chinese meat supplier is headquartered in Illinois

The real story here is that our industrialized food production with hormone-charged cattle, GMO plant products, million-chicken coops, and all the high-fructose corn syrup under the sun is still not cheap enough to keep the American consumer satisfied, so we continue to outsource the supply of this crap to a country known for putting formaldehyde in toothpaste and dog food.

Farking brilliant.

Huh.  Seems this was just the Chinese stores/franchises.  I thought it was a little odd that they would source chicken all the way from China.

"Today, McDonald's and Yum-which owns KFC and Pizza Hut, as well as non-affected restaurant Taco Bell-apologized to customers."

What would Fark be without headlines which completely ignore the article?

Why? I know where I can go buy up to a thousand Chinese rabbits tomorrow. frozen. I could buy more if I gave them some notice.

If you're farking stupid or lazy enough to eat at Taco Bell or McDonalds, where it's not exactly a state secret that the meat product is suspect, you kind of deserve what you get. Neither place is serving hard to make food.

"If proven,..."

And the weaselwords are whipped out. "Sure, the violations were actually filmed by a credible source, and, sure, the factory workers were interviewed in person as part of that filming, and, yeah, the film was publicly aired with the confidence of a news crew, but, hey, there could've been a really good reason for all those violations - you don't know."

A gentle reminder that these factories are "inspected", with the full agreement of both client and government, on a regular basis. The government will feed a scapegoat to the public, the clients will wait until the kerfluffle blows over, the company will change their letterhead, and business will once again continue as before.

FTFA: Correction: An earlier version of the post identified taco bell as a recipient of bad meat. While Taco Bell's meat is definitely not good, only its fellow Yum Brands restaurants Pizza Hut and KFC received meat from Shanghai Husi. The post has been updated to reflect this error.

I'm not saying subby wasn't trolling, I'm just saying read to the end of the article before jumping to conclusions.

Yeah.  That's what I got out of it.  This only affected locally, not globally.

Really not a story to get worked up about unless you live there.
