This is the most crooked motherfarker in politics right now and he will buy his way into the governorship again because that tanning bed fruitcake Crist won't call him on any of it.

It's hard to believe there's not a million attack ads about how crooked Scott is. There sure are plenty directed at Crist. Charlie seems to want to portray himself as sunny and smiley and not really talking about anything.

I would not be surprised to see Scott win re-election even if he's one of the most despised governors in Florida history. Crist isn't even trying.

Isolated incident #49832. All the governor has to do is say something about gay marriage, abortion and blame Obama for something and he can buy himself the election and get back to be I g a corrupt asshat.

All Scott keeps talking about is education funding and how much he gave the teachers when just before that he slashed education funding. Then Crist responds with more education bullshiat. I don't care about education. I care about Scott taking the 5th 70 times during his fraud trial. Or the various kickbacks and losing thousands of jobs because he was bribed to nix the speed rail that everyone voted for or the drug testing this the list goes on.

He's probably not getting corrupter over $53,000 in stock. He's either got a much bigger and better hidden interest, or he will be rewarded by his buddies once he's out of office.

This is probably all you need to know:

Scott's campaign and political committees have raised almost $24 million and spent $22 million since Crist entered the race in November. Crist's committees have raised almost $14.4 million and spent about $3.6 million. Scott's committees also have $7.9 million more in the bank than Crist because of the $17 million Scott had in the bank when Crist announced his candidacy. State and national parties are chipping in millions more, but the Republicans have the advantage there as well.

Yeah, um no.

That being said as it reads, the Florida legislature has made it very easy to be a corrupt politician just by following the rules. Not being from the state, I am curious to know how old most of these "ethics rules" have been in place.

To be fair, Crist hasn't technically even won the Democratic primary yet.  He's the frontrunner to be sure, but maybe he's waiting until he's officially running against Scott before he goes in guns-a-blazing.

He (she?) is referring to Scott flooding the airwaves with ads basically accusing Crist of being a Islamo-Satanist kiddie-diddler with no pushback.  Essentially, Crist may be having to directly pay his wife to vote for him by the time the election comes around.

Columbia/HCA, the massive healthcare company that Scott ran for 10 years paid a record $1.7 billion in fines and pleaded guilty to 14 felony charges for a variety of transgressions. About $30 million in fines stemmed from illegal payments to doctors. The healthcare special interests own his ass and he's been given millions for his campaign.

How do you win an election with money? Well it doesn't always work. Romney couldn't do it but the more money you pour into marketing yourself and the bigger staff you have, you have a definite advantage. specially against a pussy like Crist.

Kendrick Meek would have kicked Scott's ass had he been given the chance but Agent Orange Charlie Crist ran to Kendrick and begged him to stand down because allegedly, Florida was not ready for a black governor.  So what happened?  We got stuck with Ricky Retardo Scott who used Jennifer Carroll because she was smart, black, and good looking and then dropped her like a bad habit after law enforcement officials questioned her about ties to a purported veterans charity organization at the center of a $300 million multi-state racketeering investigation.  Carroll owned a public relations firm that represented Allied Veterans, and as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, did work for the company. She later filmed an advertisement promoting Allied Veterans while serving as lieutenant governor.

I would vote for Kendrick Meek any day of the week and I devoutly hope he runs this year just so I can vote against that farking nit-wit in the governor's mansion.

That works great if you're running against an unknown who hasn't established themselves yet.  Crist is a known quantity. He's already been governor.

All Scott and his allies are doing is burning money on ads no one will remember come Labor Day.

Crist isn't going to be able to match Scott on dollars. One of Sink's mistakes was trying to do that. Crist has to be smart.

And then he'll have more money to burn after Labor Day. And apparently Scott can afford a better staff than Crist's. A 12 year old hitting Google could come up with better material than "Well, I spent money for education too! The children!".

ZERO.

People with comical amounts of money like Scott don't go to prison. They pay massive Billion Dollar fines, then they get to become Governor or President or whatever.

He's got the American flag pinned to his lapel. A focus group said that a politician needs to appear sincere and trustworthy. Ignoring the fact that politics and sincerity are mutually exclusive, research has shown that American flag lapel pins are very cost-effective in projecting that image. He can't afford to actually be sincere and trustworthy in the world of modern politics because the other guys will steal his lunch money and give him a wedgie, but at the same time if the voters see his duplicity and mendacity, that might cost him the election. So American flag lapel pins to the rescue, tum-ta-da-dummmmm! Now he can look straight into the camera and lie his ass off with a benevolent smile that looks almost real. Chances are his line of bullshiat wouldn't change anyone's mind if it was read to them, but political consultants depend on idiots like us automatically believing everything that comes across our widescreen HDTV. And so far, their track record is admirable.

A corrupt Republican? NEVER

BrowardBulldog.org's review of financial records made public last month by Gov. Scott show that as of Dec. 31 his portfolio included several million dollars invested in the securities of more than two-dozen entities that produce and/or transport natural gas - including some, like Spectra, with substantial Florida operations.
His stake in Spectra Energy was reported as being worth $53,000 that day.

So did he have a mutual fund or was it individual stocks in a certain sector? If he had that much money in a sector, of all his own stock pickings, he is really stupid

Go to your state capitol (or to DC) and try to get into the offices of the people you voted for. You won't be able to get past the crowd of lobbyists who are trying to elbow their way to the head of the line. Save your righteous indignation for the next time you're looking in the mirror.

I don't get it.  Are you required by law to vote for a candidate if you see a certain number of his/her ads?

Okay, okay, I'll stop being facetious and just say it.  It's the voters' job to be intelligent and engaged enough to not fall for advertising tricks.  If they're not, then screw 'em.

For a country that so prizes personal responsibility, we really do let people off the hook when it comes to voting, for some reason.  "Oh, you want health care?  Work for it, hippie!"  "You helped elect a blatant idiot and sociopath?  That's okay, those were really pretty-looking flags he had in his campaign commercial."
